not sure if this has been posted i did a search for the man of steel nothing came up, if this has been posted before then please remove.

the man of steel is set to be released in 2013
no offical story has been released yet, only this image of Henry Canvill as superman (posted Below)
to me he looks a bit of a bad side of superman (to those superman fans bizarro)
not that keen on the suit it looks like its made of rubber, glad they used the old s logo although i did like the look of superman returns logo

the man of steel also stars (according to imdb)

no mention of Non, zods dumb ass side kick from the first 2 superman films

I've got a gut feeling that this is going to be awesome. I also have no problem with a reboot, as the previous reboot didn't really work and only consisted of one film, so doesn't really count.

As for the spiderman and batman reboots, they are just daft!

I've got a gut feeling this is going to wank. Zack Snyder makes awful films. Superman Returns is pretty under rated. I thought Brandon Routh did an excellent imitation of Christopher Reeve.

Hopefully it will be good, I do think its got some great actors in it. Hopefully the story will include lots of action.

Also need the chemistry to click between supes and lois lane.

im rather looking forward to this. Written by the guys behind the new batman films and with Snyder it should be visually stunning. I think with Zod as a baddy we should see some proper fight scenes finally in a superman film!

I nipped to see the first showing in Derby after my dentists trip ended early - it's pretty amazing!

ive not got enough for a review but safe to say it was way better than I'd even hoped after that trailer!

Likewise... But I defo wouldnt watch it again, and many scenes wound me up due to their length. To be honest I found myself getting very bored.
A directors cut with about 30 mins less would make this a very good film.

Watched it last night in 3D and I thought it was fantastic - considering it was another reboot.
Some of the scenes delving in to supermans past did drag on a bit but I didn't mind.
SFX were amazing and I just couldn't but help think that if you ran a window repair or building business, you will be minted by the end of the film.

I don't remember hearing the classic theme tune.

apparently its all very moody and brooding like the remakes of Batman, you can't beat Reeve as Superman, as I think (IMO) you can't beat Keaton as Batman.

He's always so dark I wonder if Christopher Nolan has any lights in his house?

Watched this yesterday and was appalled by how bad it was. I'm a massive fan of comic book movies and after seeing the trailers for this I was so excited about seeing it. Went to see it in 3D yesterday and that's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. General Zod was ace, superman payed it well enough, but what really annoyed me was the constant shaky cam footage and the really annoying over-used effect of changing from out of focus, to in focus in action scenes. And the action scenes are just pointless too, they felt like filler or padding on a movie which is certainly 30 minutes too long anyway.

Do yourself a favour and stay home watching superman 2 instead, much better.

Was toying with watching this but You've just made my mind up for me. Personallyi think Zack Snyder is a terrible director - they should have picked someone else - Snyder should make adverts not movies .

I read a review that said the 3d version made the movie worse as it feels like it was added in as an afterthought or cash cow.

I saw this with my son on Friday, I wouldn't say it was terrible but it felt like it was setting up the character of superman for the second movie. There are long scenes explaining why he was sent away, what happened to the planet, why he is strong here, why kryptonate harms him, the world is afraid of him, etc. In that respect I think it actually did it quite well. But now a days we like our super hero movies to get going quicker!

I have read somewhere that they are setting up a Justice League film so I expect there will be a few like this - just like Marvel did before the Avengers came out!

I agree with the comments on here and While I didn't think it was terrible, I didn't think it was great.

I don't like scfi very much and I think that's the problem, but geeks are gonna love it.
The krypton beginning was way to long and then when we did switch to Earth I didn't like the way the origin was handled so I didn't feel a connection.

The movie felt more like a disaster/ scfi end of the world film rather than a superhero movie.
Too quickly we find that superman isn't really a Superman just an alien and I think the alien feel to the movie is leaned on too heavily.

Don't get me wrong the effects and score are fantastic and Snyder does a fantastic Job of handling the flying as we are no longer in awe of this, like I was seeing the original.

The cast are great Cavil is perfect (women are going to fall in love with him) and Shannon and Crowe are brilliant as usual, although I'm not sure about Amy Adams yet.

I'm a big Superman fan and growing up he was always my favorite superhero despite the obvious limitations. It was good but I think it could have been better.
