Not looking to take over the topic, but are GT a respectable make?

I picked up a full aluminium GT Palomar with Front Sus on Gumtree last week for £25. Renewed the brake/gear cables and replaced the back wheel and it's going OK ... frame is a bit tatty - worth investing in to clean it up?

Don't need another full suss mate. I have just last week finished building one I am very happy with that has 5 inch travel at the back and 6 at the front.

GT were a very respected make when all their stuff was built in the US. I have a couple from that era and I really like them. They were bought by Schwinn and went off a little and then were bought by someone else IIRC but they are a good solid frame that you should have no issues with.
