gamehelp novice trying to run swos

ello! firstly sorry if I'm an idiot here but I've been trying to get sensible world of soccer running. this is the first time in years i've done this and I'm feeling a bit stupid and frustrated.

I have dosbox 0.74 downloaded and I found all the swos files downloaded from an abandonware site. now as I remember I'm to mount c c:\oldgames - then c:\ - then sws!!!_!.exe. I t then says it's an illegal command.

alternativly I've clicked on sws!!!_!.exe icon within my folder on c and it said " drive not ready error reading drive D retry, ignore, fail" if i got ignore or fail, the intro of swos starts but then just returns to windows.

I know I'll kick myself for missing something simple but how the hell do i get this running it's driving me nutts!

any help would be muchly appreciated as I'm quite the novice here. cheers

Install DOSBox, download SWOS and extract files to a folder.
Drag and drop the swos.exe icon onto the DOSBox icon and it should run.

You may need to run the setup beforehand to get sound, I just choose soundblaster compatible and save - never had any problems.
