The Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 are both better standalone tablets than the Transformer (from the same era) and sell for around the £300 mark on Ebay. I only mentioned the iPad 2 in terms of thickness and portability, otherwise its apples and pears (excuse the pun)

P.S I have an iPad 2 and I would only trade up to something better which I think the Prime is, but not the orig Transformer.

Actually most of the high end Android tabs are more than equal to the iPad 2, the Prime will overtake it by a country mile. The new Lenovo Tegra 3 Tablet is looking better even than the Asus.

There are reports of people emailing Asus here in the UK and their saying the release will be December 15th here, I emailed them last night and will report accordingly!

must admit the transformer prime does look very good... and i love my ipad 2.... but for me i really like the amount of support there is for the App Store..

still going to sit back and what it unviel for a few weeks then decide..

I still don't think tablets can do enough to convince me I need 1. I have the crappy Vega, for browsing the net on the toilet or in bed or on a plane. I am not sure I need a quad core cpu for that.

The vega is ace as a shitter tablet, I couldn't at this point justify the outlay for anything better.
