Mac Which NAS for new 27" iMac?

Just taken delivery of my shiny new 27" iMac and as it's running Lion it's not playing nice with my DLink DNS-323 NAS. It will mount the drives but the whole thing is less than smooth (much worse than when my MBP was running Snow Leopard). Now the easy answer would be to buy a 3Tb Time Capsule but the price is putting me off, that and the fact that I already have 4Tb in the DLink and dont really want to downsize.

Currently I'm thinking about the Netgear ReadyNAS 4 slot bare bones unit here

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-Giga...4370698&sr=8-6

I know there is the issue of SMB shares with Lion but before I spank out for the TC or the Netgear does anyone have any thoughts?

    Cheers

Speaking from a Windows point of view the ReadyNAS is one of the best in the business. Major community support with third party coders, regular updates etc.

I can't comment on the compatibility with OSX Lion but ReadyNAS claims to be compatible with Windows, Linux and OSX. I configured a ReadyNAS Duo the other day to enable OSX and Windows access to shares but the mac wasn't available for me to test.

The QNAP looks really good. How does it cope with Time Machine backups? Have you upgraded to Lion?

I use one of these -

The beta DSM now has Lion support and it's good as a TM as well.

Well, I've gone for the QNAP 410, here's hoping it does what it says on the tin.

Well I've got the 410 and so far I'm impressed. It's taken a bit of setting up - and I dont think I'm quite there yet! But it is working with TM and once I figured out how I wanted the disks set up and set up the right folders, its been relatively straightforward. Just need to copy all my stuff over to it now!

    Thanks for the help.
