    Tech Anker Battery for Sensation

When I picked up my Sensation a week ago I loved it, bar the battery life. I use mines throughout the day for a lot of text/email and then checking the likes of Facebook/Twitter/G+ etc.

I'd take it off a full charge at 8AM and it would last about 11/12 hours and that would be it into the red. This was with auto sync, bluetooth, wifi and GPS turned off - to be fair I do get a poor signal at work.

Bought the Anker battery following the good reviews on Amazon, going into my 3rd day and it's going well. When fitting the battery I enabled email sync, weather sync, and GPS. After 22 hours today I had about 25% of the battery left... with some bluetooth chucked in there whilst driving.

At only a tenner, I consider this an essential for the Sensation, I've been really impressed!

My battery had 60% on delivery and lasted longer than I am used to, I charged it when it was down to 30% and got 38 hours! this time I ran it all the way down before a full recharge, a couple more of those and I should be at max. I'm running Battery Monitor Widget Pro and all looks really good!! Very, very impressed with a battery that cost me £10!

Got to be honest, that post above was taken shortly after fitting - it's only just got better.

Although it isn't going to happen, HTC should be taking this onboard and making a modification to the standard issue battery - it would make a world of difference to critics and user reviews! Although, at this moment in time this battery could flop after six months and require replacement... if worst came to worst I'd buy another.

Are these the same size as the stock battery. You can get better batteries for the S2 but they are bigger and therefore come with their own back cover ?

I think it's ever so slightly thicker - but with it installed the original cover fits back on tightly without any issues.

Mind you for less than £15 you can buy a couple of batteries with wall charger for the S2 as long as your prepared to lug them around with you that is !

Missed this thread a couple opf days ago...

I have about the same usage battery as you and if it doesn't last a full day it's annoying, I could charge at my pc but charging by usb is slow and a PITA.

I guess the prices have gone up since you bought yours but still looks essential for us Sensation owners.

I'm running mines at the moment with both Bluetooth & WiFi on constantly, reasonable use and Gmail & Weather on Sync and it's lasting a day no problem.

Pretty happy with it at that.

Bit of an update, I wasn't particularly happy with these but I did a little more investigation and it seems that with the usage I give them if I use the battery charger that you get when you buy 2 batteries from Amazon the batteries are dead after about 16-18 hours yet if you charge the battery while it is in the phone with the phone charger after the same time the battery is still showing 30-35% seems very strange and needless to say I will stick with the phone charger option now! Still a must have for any Sensation owner IMO.

I bought two of these, one for the wife's desire and one for mine.. They seem worse than the original battery and I wish that i'd gone for the Anker now! They were only 9.99 delivered when I purchased them so no great loss.

It looks like they are simply HTC business batteries with a sticker on them!..

I got the £17.99 twin pack with charger as well - the original HTC battery is 1520 mAh and the Anker ones are 1900 mAh so it's no surprise that they last a fair bit longer. But they fit perfectly and are definitely well worth the investment

Agreed, this is a must buy. Makes the battery comfortably last a day with moderate usage, a significant upgrade from the original.

not for sensation, but I got the twin pack plus charger from Amazon for my Galaxy S2. In that device they last a bit longer than the original one, maybe 3-4 hours more but since I get a good 36hours anyway it's more than adequate. I just wanted some ready charged back ups available.
