Following on from my mail the CEO thread I was getting pissed off with the amount of spam I was getting from a certain company.
I would get spam from the company, click the unsubscribe link and the following day I would get some more spam from the company. The unsubscribe link only seemed to confirm my email address was valid and increase the spam. This went on for around 2 months until a week ago I decided to google the company and find out who the CEO was.
I found a lot of info about the company. I got the CEOs email, desk phone and mobile number and 5 more employees of the companies email, desk and mobile numbers.
My plan was to call him directly and ask him why the spam continued even after the unsubscribe link had been clicked. I tried calling him but as I didn't want to give him my number I withheld it but he wouldn't answer. So instead I thought I'd have some fun.
I set up a rule in Outlook to forward all spam I got from this company to all the email addresses I'd found. In my forward rule it would add a bit of text saying the following:
This email has been forwarded and autodeleted to combat the spam in my inbox. Clicking your unsubscribe link does not unsubcribe me from your spam. To unsubscribe from this autoforwarding rule click here.
The unsubscribe link pointed to lemonparty . org (if you don't know what that site is then for the love of christ don't browse to it, I suggest googling it instead).
Here we are 5 days later and I haven't had any spam in my inbox from the company.
