Well ive just played my first match. I was Barca vs Man City. I got thrashed 4-0 with Balatelli getting an hatrick lol Defending is loads different now, gonna take a lot of getting used to!

lol Rikman. I think once you get used to the new way of defending then people will be fine. Just played my second game, beat Man City 1-0 in the final minute

I've noticed in the control options you can turn defending back to how it was in Fifa 11 ie Hold the button just to tackle. I read somewhere it's only for offline modes though...

The new defending gives attackers more time on the ball, a good thing imo

not sure if i get along with this new way of defending just doesnt seem right, probably be ok if A was to tackle as its what im use to, just always pressed A to tackle but nothing happened

There was never any skill involved in just holding down A to tackle though. With the new system you have to learn to position your defenders, jockey with them and then press B at the right time. It's a lot harder but that's what was needed imo

dont get me wrong i didnt concede many just not got use to it yet, i think if i changed the controls so A would tackle n B would jockey i would find it easier.

I was never the type to just hold A anyway so gonna try again later with the button switch

We will remind you of that Danny when me and War are playing as Any and the stupid Randoms are out of posistion and not responding lol. I agree its an improvement but lets see how it is in Clubs games looks like Defending will be a Nightmare hopefully Randoms are not as stupid!

I can't get used to the new defensive system at all. I jockey the forward but when I attempt to tackle him the defender just wildly swings his leg in the forwards direction and he skips past. I've found it easier just to sprint into the forward and 9 times out of 10 you cleanly win the ball.

I must of played 10 games last night and am still struggling to get to grips with it.

even when jockying the cpu just skips past my defender with ease, running jockeys sometimes are really slow too.

how are people tacking? LT and B or just running into the ball with jocky? pressing a and b?

I have not quite found the easy way to defend, no matter which way i try to make the tackle the striker skips passes the other way with ease

also player changing seem slow/buggy?

other than that it looks nicer and seem a little quicker

basicly they have made it harder for defenders and easier for attackers to get through

Player switching seems fine to me? Have you changed it to manual in the Controller settings? I also turned Analogue spring on there and Semi shooting.

Tackling is hard, but i'm getting a lot better at it. If he's running towards your defender, I normally jockey and then when I want to tackle loose LT and press B. Most of the time though I just use the analogue stick to move my player near the attacker and press B. It's all manually done now instead of the Auto holding A from 11. Once you get used to matching the attackers run etc you will find it alot better.

I scored a nice low drive with Messi yesterday, all the vids i've uploaded say it's on Amateur when it was on Professional though
