    Hi Larry,
I think me and you are at the same stage at the moment!
I think the apple tv 2 can only stream over an network connection though im not 100% certain.
I'm sure one of the more experienced guys will know for sure.

Apple TV2 does not have a HDD to install the software (or media too) they have to mounted then streamed over the network. So long as your using Wireless N, 1080p should not be a problem. I stream 1080p over my network all the time. Only jumps known again on my Revo. 720p is flawless over Wireless for me though.

PS3 Pad? Controller (SixAxis or Remote Controller?)
Using Windows XBMC, just connect via Bluetooth I think .
XBMCLive is the same, but you need further software. Checkout http://qtsixa.sourceforge.net/

I'm with DejaVu on this one (mainly because I have followed his advice on it since purchase!)......Definitely XBMCLive is the way to go...however as you say you do need Windows on it for a PC, you could consider it on a dual boot option. My Revo on powerup sits for about 8 seconds on the boot selection screen, and if untouched, boots straight into XBMCLive and acts just like a dedicated media player off the remote control, however if I wanted Windows, I simply pick up my bluetooth keyboard and select it at the power on boot selection screen.
As a media player, I just didnt want to have to piss around with the keyboard and mouse, clicking start etc etc in my living room, so dual boot works perfectly for me....and the bairns can work it easily.

I do believe your right callumz! I think you said it in an earlier post the combinations and possibilities are endless. The only real constraint is how much you wanna spend. That's why I'm going with the Revo first as it fits my needs perfectly for now and does everything I need. Thanks for the advice DV, I only have a standard router as given with my BB provider so I guess the 720 streaming is out for me at the mo. In future I may build my own box and use the Revo in another room with with wired connection or a new router. BTW, I liked the link to your movie collection DV, when I look at the movies I get a link straight in my couchpotato program, sweet!! I love this forum!

the cp link in sharethe.tv was a request from me to rudburger. Also look into mediafrontpage - another great project I'm involved with. AutoMovies is something about to be integrated into it. Check out all my posts on XBMC - SAME username and your htpc will be the best thing you ever did!

ie - manage your media from work.

trakt is pretty shit hot too.

I will look into what you've said DejaVu, Mediafrontpage looks nice. I'm gonna have to buy a revo quick and get this all fully setup. I've just setup constellation on my iPad. Really nice interface. I need to sort out my registration on XBMC when I tried the other day it wouldn't let me log in!
