Shield Bug and Pauls favourite... an Earwig :D

This is the first shield bug I've spotted this year. I seem to find one per year . Also, spotted my first earwig since getting my camera.. haha seriously. They seem to have been non-existent. It was residing within a poppy, so I plucked the poppy and moved to a more open area.

I have to say I'm exceptionally pleased with the lighting in these shots. The diffuser I have may be humongous but it's certainly helped my light control a lot I think. I'm seeing a lot less harsh highlights and more even light, would you agree?

I still want to make a coke can diffuser because sometimes, the lastolite really is too big

yea - it's great diffusion - especially considering how shiny earwigs are...
