Right, well I plan on proposing to my girlfriend in the next few months. I will probably do it on holiday in Vietnam, we are going to a island called Phu Quoc, so I might try and arrange some sort of private dinner on the beach with wine/champagne etc and then pop the question.

To those who have done this before, what did you say, how did you say it, how did you do it? To be honest im absolutely bricking it and any tips you have would help (besides the obvious one i will get of not actually doing it )

I've been dodging marriage for 17 years no fucking way am I going down that road, think she's given up now and knows im going nowhere and the fact most people we know have married and divorced and remarried in the 17 years we have been together.

Just my view but marriage means fuck all now days just an expensive day which leads to misery.

I was on hols in Phuket...took her on a private dining boat (just the 2 of us, driver, cook/waitress and musician girl) on the lagoon at Bang Tao. Was a bit nervous just before but all went well. She didn't expect a thing and was so shocked I had to ask her again because she didn't answer the first time. She said yes, been married 5 years.

funny thing is CJ , you seen one pic of her. not that I have to justify myself to a prick like you, but she is anything but fat. How about you dont judge someone's girlfriend on one picture, which just happened to be on her upper half. Seems to me your a bit of a hypocrit.

There's no need to get personal. I was offering some sound advice. On another note, she'll be a real curiosity in Vietnam. Unlike Japan it's not a sumo culture so they don't see many heffers. Don't be surprised if she brings a street full of bikes to a stand still as they marvel at the 'bouncing lady'.
