    Help Upgrade Due

    Hey folks

Wife is due an upgrade and is toying with getting an IPHONE 4 she already has a 3GS and isn't really bothered about waiting till the 5 comes out. I have mentioned I would give her my IP4 if she wanted and I would get something else.
    So here is the dilema
If I decide to go away from apple and to ANDROID what is the best on the market at the moment and how easy is the UI? Finally I only use mac at home so would that be an issue for rooting etc??

    Cheers

i only use a mac and by hook or by crook I've always been able to root every device.

As for which handset you should go for, that's very subjective and entirely personal to you. Go and play with them. Many members will point you at whatever HTC is current this week (lol) and many prefer the samsung range. Personally I'm waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Note but I'm rather strange in that respect

I have just had the same dilemma, upgrade due etc. I was going to wait for the new Nexus Prime coming out (loved the nexus s) but just ordered the galaxy S 2 instead - I am bored with iphones now

The desire is as yesterday as the iPhone 3gs. Both are coming towards the end of their useable life. The iPhone will be worth more, should that help you decide

Hi mate . I have had the choice to upgrade on the missus contract also and I currently have desire hd . Played with Samsung galaxy s2 and a few other s and nothing justified a jump or a 30 quid contract so kept my phone and put my missus on a 10 a month contract . It made sense . I just gonna wait for the next big thing . Be it a iPhone 5 or something else . Ps the Samsung was faster loading galery items over hd desire but nothing else stood out . Love my faithfully desire hd

Not sure its a jump from iPhone 4 that u have , But I could never use a smaller screen anymore so that wrote the iPhone 4 off for me . But your iPhone 4 is worth loads more than desire hd anyway so don't just swap

Get the S2! I've had mine for 2 months now and absolutely love it. Best phone I've ever had and much prefer it to the iphone. I was also concerned about the size of it but you soon get used to it. Now whenever I use a different phone like an iphone it feels like I'm holidng a kids toy!

I'm not fussed about the Galaxy S2 for the same reason I didn't like the Nexus S. ---> AMOLED.

Personally, I much prefer LCD as you can actually see it when outside, also they look like an old CRT tv with the colour turned up too high. Had a play with my mate's S2 on the weekend and it confirmed it for me.

Samsung know it's an issue for some people, as all their current adverts mention 'super bright' etc.

Desire hd / sensation it is then :-) big screens are the tits and I could never go back now . Do like iPhone 4 screen quality but size sucks .

I said way back when that retina displays were better than anything else out there and as soon as a 4.3" retina'd phone came out that would be me sold. Hoping that's one of the announcements today.

As for big screened phones, I think I win ;-) (see my sig)

I have decided to wait and see what is announced today. Am a bit pissed that the keynote isn't being streamed this year but have clarified set up to feed me everything as it happens.

If all else fails and I don't fancy a new IPHONE I will no doubt go for the s2.

    Cheers guys
