I friend of a friend had a go at replacing the display on there iPhone 4.
They have made a complete mess of it and it was handed to me to see if I could get it going.
They gave me the phone with no signs of life and a few parts leftover. They had screws all mixed up inside, the length of the screws seems to have been ignored. The ribbon cable from the digitizer was fed through the camera hole and twisted round to reach the socket.
Also the dock connector ribbon cable was completley broken, so I got a new one of eBay and replaced this and fixed any obvious mistakes. The phone now turns on, and shows up in iTunes (I can play the music on it in iTunes) but the only the backlight of the screen comes on, not the display.
Any ideas?
