Tech Are you ready for a (nother) New Sensation?

UK ONLINE RETAILER Clove has announced that the HTC Sensation XL will tip up on 24 October.

Keeping in HTC's trend of turning phones out quickly, the Sensation XL will be available in just over two weeks time. HTC announced the handset just last night, when the firm said it would be available in November.

Clove said, "HTC last night announced the HTC Sensation XL and we can now confirm that we are expecting the first stock to arrive on October 24th."
Unfortunately Clove has no price tag attached to the phone yet but Expansys has it pegged at £519. This is only about £20 more than the Sensation XE.
The Sensation XL is the third Sensation phone to come from HTC and the second handset to feature Beats audio technology. It's also the largest smartphone HTC has produced with its 4.7in screen.
Other than a big touchscreen the device will have a Qualcomm 1.5GHz single-core processor, 16GB of internal memory and an 8MP camera that has a 28mm wide-angle lens. HTC has put the handset on a bit of a diet to achieve a slim 9.9mm profile.
The INQUIRER was at the launch of the phone this week so take a look at our video demo for a closer look at the Sensation XL. µ

Ketchup.... http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/...nsation-xl-tip

This is doing my head in a little. The Sensation XE has just hit the shops, and I am glued to the net for big price drops on the original Sensation (as there seems to be little difference between the two). However, now this has appeared... and it is different (although looking frickin huge!)

Thoughts?????

I'm in a similar boat, quite fancy the HTC Sensation but not due upgrade for a few months by which time there'll be something better no doubt..
then there's the EVO:

The XL looks like a great phone... even though it is a little big.. but as long as it fits inside my jacket pocket then its not an issue. I actually think that its size is an advantage. If you use you phone to just make and take calls then its way too big.

480x800 res and its going to be big enough to watch films.

As I'm out of contract this may be the way I go..

Not seeing any blow away deals on the original Sensation yet... do you think the prices are about to fall?

As for the sensation XL... if it is the HTC Titan, then yup, you get a bigger screen but it is actually less resolution than the sensation... 800 x 480 Vs 960 x 540

I am contract free at the moment... so only using a cheep ass Tesco £15 rolling month thang. I prefer a sim free unit... but I am considering a contract, but only 12 or at a push 18 month. I think the main issue is that all the sensation contract offers at the moment don't look that different from the sensation XE!

Yeah I did. There isn't a major company that doesn't have repair issues... from Apple to Microsoft, they have all made huge fuck up's repairing people's units. However, most people on the t'internet who have highlighted last nights HTC issue, fail to mention there response from Watchdog...

The profusely appologised, they corrected all the issues immediately, they gave all the people compensation... and they made immediate changes to their system. In my book, that is a great response from a large multi-national corporate company.

Thanks to MsDG

Don't try to bamboozle me with common sense.. I hate HTC and that is all there is to it.
This was the first and last HTC phone I ever owned, what a pile of shit it was. And now all I see them doing is churning out handset after handset, all minor revisions of the previous itteration.

Yeah, Windows mobile... that was pretty shite. But I can see your point... stick with Apple, no minor revisions there!

HTC phones were always fantastic pieces of hardware crippled by Windows, Android makes all the difference and Sense means no need to faff around rooting. Hold off for a good deal on a Sensation, you won't regret it.
If at first you don't succeed.....redefine success. . . .

Thanks to blaggard

HTC dont release phones with minor revisions, they release DIFFERENT phones, at different price ranges. If you buy a great phone today, it doesnt suddenly become shit when another one comes out with a different colour case and a slightly different screen, Apple sure have wipped up the mobile phone market into a huge crowd of mindless idiots.
