I'm out and about but just had £51 of Ms points purchased in my name. Known issue on the web that Ms have been hacked. Change your passwords asap to protect yourself and search Google for more info.

It seems MS have disabled my XBL account now :-/ would be ace if I get the new Halo Evolved for free for this

Haven't read up on this but does this only effect PayPal on XBL or your card(s) as well?

All payment methods mate I think, I only had a paypal one on there since I removed my cards recently.

If they can hack and access your Live account then they have access to all the payments methods associated with that account, cards, paypal etc

I can't remove my bloody Paypal payment method since the last £1 a month fiasco. Added a few months and now can't remove it..

That's what I get with Paypal. I've cancelled the payment service on Paypal's site, but MS won't let me remove it.

I don't think its a big issue. All they can do is buy stuff on your XBL account so MS should worth it out.

MS appear to have frozen all payments so removals are included. Makes sense. Stop all purchases and freeze payment method changes until they sort it out.

Just got off the phone with MS.

Someone recovered my account to another console, purchased 6000 MS points, spent EXACTLY 6000 MS points on Fifa content and then played the game a bit... If I hadn't seen the email I would not have known. They are going to investigate further and refund the full amount to me so no problems there.

And I'm back online

Looking around on other forums this seems to be what all people are seeing. Why Fifa though? weird

I read elsewhere that peoples EA or Origin accounts were hacked. If thats the case could it be that those emails/passwords that were stolen, are using the same login details for their Live account? Was your password the same EvilBob?

My XBL password is over 25 characters long with lower case, upper case and numbers in it. Fairly secure methinks and unique to this one service. Don't think I have an EA or Origin account (I don't play sports games)

you can remove your paypal account.
just do it on the other side
go to your paypal account and delete the vendor association with microsoft.

I spoke to MS and they have blocked all spend on my account. The XBL PayPal payments are like a direct debit so use PayPal to cancel if you want but MS said they would take care of it and reimburse you if this hack afffects you. They were VERY good.

that would be for ultimate team card/packs

you could load fifa 12 ultimate teams and see if you have anything left or for any clues

*UPDATE* So on Thursday I got home from work and decided to play some Forza. Turned on the 360 and get the message that I cannot log in due to problems with my payment method. "Odd" I thought but lets go through this. Logged onto xbox.com and checked - nope - still got my PayPal account setup.. hmm.. ok.. Removed PayPal and added my debit card... same error. Called Microsoft and they were useless. I was told "there is an active investigation on my account" to which I said I understand that but the error I am getting says that there is a problem with my payment. Again the guy repeated the same phrase. This went on for some 20 minutes and in the end I decided to give it a day and see if anything ticked over...

Friday Night : Get home, turn on the 360 - same error. Call MS again (1 hr 20 mins in the queue!!!) - got through to a lady who told me the same thing. When I pressed her to explain why that would stop me logging into XBL I was told that my account will not be available for TWENTY FIVE DAYS!!! I have a family account so this is affecting all FOUR of my accounts. My kids aint happy, I aint happy and I was told there is nothing they can do until the investigation period is over!!! GRRR So I've been penalised for someone hacking my account.

Decided to write an email to them explaining my frustration with their telephone support and the fact that I will lose a months worth of service over this!

The response : We cannot discuss this on email. Please call our technical support number below and we would be more than happy to help you out..

Great... So I'm back to the start. I'm not wasting any more time on hold with these muppets. I've written a stern email to the head of XBL programming asking for this to be escalated. I've bought 3 new games in the last two weeks (Forza, Gears and Rage) and I want to play them online to build my GS and achievements and more importantly to have fun with my mates. Now it's gonna be almost December before I can do that again!!

The reasoning XBox gave was that they didn't want any more spend on my account. SO WHY NOT JUST BLOCK SPENDING!!!!?!?!

last xmas the very same happened to me. my account got hacked but i caught them in the act and changed passwords etc, it was too late my account had been recovered. I also had a family account and they decided its a good idea to suspend the accounts why they investigate it. this would take up to 4 weeks. took 2 months but i finally got it back with my points intact. on the plus side everything they had got with my points i could re download for free.
