Based on the post above, the stick I use from the same batch seems OK. It does show it's made in China though. (Is this not possible?)

Note : All of the sticks I sold had a dark green label on them, the "Kingston" branding on the other side is Black. (As it should be)

First two digits of my Serial Number are CH, which I guess matches the country of manufacture.

    Thanks to Brydo666

Good to hear that it's being sorted out, unfortunate that some of these are failing so early in their lifespan.

The one I had from Byrdo, prob was an earlier one is fine. Has been fine, and is still fine.

When I first had it delivered, I compared it to the one I had bought myself ages ago. Same stick, but the 16gb version. I compared them visually and had no reason to suspect they were non-genuine.

It also has a dark green label, etchings on the usb plug that match the above post, but like Byrdo said, made in China.

Could just be a faulty batch of them that he sold after?

All of the sticks I've sold came from an original batch of about 1000 from the supplier direct.

I continue to sell them on eBay and have had no problems there... hopefully the number of those that are failing is low.

Yeah simply go here fill out the form and you'll get a reply next day

When they had deemed that it was at fault they originally asked me to take it back to the shop where it was purchased i said that wasn't possible as was bought while i was way for a weekend and got no chance to go back to that area to swap

so they then gave me a RMA

    2 Thanks given to fanni

Right - second one of these I bought on here has gone tits up now and it's fucking me off. It crashes explorer when ever I put it in and I have to run a check disk and fix before I can do anything with it. Transferring things to it and the progress bar fills up as quickly as it should then just stops and it takes a few mins to put a 100mb file on.

It's pot luck if it'll work when you plug it in and it slows my Popcorn Hour down to a crawl when I try and run stuff from it.

Anyone recommend a decent prog to try and fix this as Windows doesn't seem to be able to help..
I'll go down the RMA route after Xmas but could do with working it before then if only for a couple of days.

    Ta.

Yeah, like I says I'll do that when Xmas is done and dusted, but in the meantime I'm going to need it.
The other one I got I gave to someone else but that died ages ago and is now languishing at the bottom of the River Irwell..

These drives seem to be failing more and more, two of mines failed but I got new generation ones from Kingston over a couple of days.

A lot seem to be OK though, I apologise to those whom have problems. I'm only glad I made sure these were genuine before buying.
