[TUTORIAL] How to get non-verbs working with LT MAXX

0.As in iXtreme Burner Max official tutorial, turn on Tools -> Settings -> Write -> Perform OPC Before Write


1.Select "Write image file to disc" as usual.


2.Click "Advanced Settings" button in bottom right corner. (Marked red in screenshot)


3.Open Lite-On panel in Advanced Settings. It is required to click the individual "Change" button if you changed any setting item and a "Success" message will pop up to confirm the change.

- Turn on Online HyperTuning


- Turn on SmartBurn


- Turn off OverSpeed


- Optionally turn on or off Force HyperTuning according to your disc quality (I set this to ON)


Tested working with:

Forza.Motorsport.4.PAL.XBOX360-COMPLEX
Liteon iHAS124B with C4EÆs iXtreme Burner MAX V1.0
IMGBURN 2.5.6.0 (Latest)
Arita full-face printables (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66)
360 with benq LTv2.0 on dash 2.0.13604.0
Verified in imgburn to 100% no errors
Installed to 360 HDD 100% no errors

1. Open Latest version of mediacodespeededit (1.2.0.10).
2. Load the Max Burner firmware.
3. In the list find the correct media id of the disk you want to change burn speed for and double click it.
4. Now in the pop up list choose a write strategy that closely matches your media and also has the write speed you want to try... For example replace 8x richoh with 2.4x richoh).
Wait for the list to update, you should now see the write speed you desired alongside the disk id you want to burn. Click save, the file will automatically name itself xxxx.speedpatched.bin.
5. Fire up codeguys flasher util and choose your liteon drive - I check the update boot code box (this may not be needed).
6. Click on write and navigate to your patched firmware, ignore all warnings and let it write.
7. On completion of flash press exit and TURN OFF computer.
8. Wait at least 5 seconds then restart computer, your media should now work at the speed you requested.

the guide in post #1 worked for me

had some old Fortis dual layers in the cupboard, verify failed at 51% using stock imgburn but when using the tweaks as in post #1 i got 100% burn and verify @ 2.4x (max the disks can handle)

ok tried batman with top method and it failed at 49% so tried the mediacodespeed trick to force burn at 2.4x and it works

so a combination of both method works too, not sure if its the way to make the best backup though (also 2.4x is sloooow)

well i tested the ritek 2.4x burn against a verb at 4x with kprobe and the ritek is by far the better quality, will be sticking with the riteks if more are successful.
not to bothered bout the slowness myself.

Shame about the 5 PIF spike on the layer break. (This was at x4 Speed)

Already tried MediaCodeSpeed edit this morning working with DaMacFunkin on TX but the burn was shit, but will now try again with the settings for imgburn and see what difference they make.

I'll give it a shot later, unfortunately this little thing called work has to get in the way of all my fun! Just reserved some Verbs for Maplins just incase.

If i have burnt XGD disks with imgburn on truncate (none verbs) before all this came to light

is the full game data intact? just the leadout is missing/would fail verification?

Or will the game data be bad/corrupt or missing ? ie stop & crash ingame?

only forza has civ checks that check the last part of the disk

i have chucked all my truncated ones tho and reburnt from original release

Personally i would do them all again, you can use cheaper disk i.e Aones and patch the firmware as shown above and they seen to burn just aswell as the verbs at 2.4x.

But for backup purposes m8, is all the game data intact so one could rip and ftp over to jtag? or am i missing game data also?

I'm using Aone+ disks and burning at 4x 100% success so far using the settings posted here.

Can't get Kprobe to install on my system so been unable to check the quality of the burns.

yep using the top settings and 2.4x speedhack i have burnt off the entire xgd3 collection with no errors on aritas

happy days
