Which lens for Canon 7D

lol yeh i know bert, thats why i carried on and went for the 7D cos im my head it kinda ticked all the right boxes for me, lens wise i hope they bring out a better version of the 18-200 with better optic quality at the wide and narrow and also USM which for my life i dont know why they didnt add that to begin with

Fair play for getting the body you wanted, but I wouldn't recommend the 70-300 DO.

The DO is overpriced for the performance. The best lens you can put on that for the budget is a 70-200L. The quality is bang on and budget is tasty for the non-IS version. The loss in 100mm won't even be noticeable as the quality is so much higher you can crop easily if needed.

Fair enough to say you considered everyones point of view and then made an educated purchase based on that, and I know heart rules over head very easily, but a lot of us have been into photography a long time and spent a vast amount of money making mistakes, I know I did over the years.

Anyway, whatever you choose, the main thing is to have fun with it

How dissapointing from canon after playing a little i noticed a black mark in the view finder, tried a different lens and its not on pictures taken, so i guess theres a mark on the mirror, had a quick look at lower mirror and cant see it, so it must be on upper parts, also the inside optic of the lens had 2 bits of dust 1 white spot and 1 white strand, not good at all for a peice of equipment thats over a thiusand pounds, and more to it surely the parts should of been assembled in a clean room at canon ??????

sorry for long delay, all sorted now though, got a replacement day after i phoned and complained via couier swap so well impressed with the company
