    Xbox 360 Possible Hitachi solution?

I've got 3 Hitachi units here and a friend of mine wants a console for offline only, i've been waiting for LT2.0 for them but it's still not appeared, so i thought i would try something out.

Hitachi's don't do AP25 and neither do Samsung's (which the new DAE.bin silent update checks for) so i updated the unit to latest dash via usb, and i know Xval is outdated and unreliable but what it does do, is check for AP25 flags, anyhow ran my details, and it came back 'secdata clean'

Injected Hitachi key into a spare Samsung drive i had, NOT SPOOFING, i only injected the key, and after setting the console back up i installed MW3 and Battlefield 3, played online for a while and re-checked with Xval, secdata is still clean.

Left console on online overnight and secdata still clean and console not banned......yet lol

If it works all well and good, if not my mate will be getting a console sooner than he thought.

I'm not making any wild claims lol, and like i said i can afford for this console to get banned, but i'm playing XGD3 games online for now at least, and obviously if and when it gets banned i'll post back.

    Thanks to ilscuro

As you know mate I'm waiting on LT for the Hitachi's myself, but from what you have said I would think that would only work for Hitachi 59's and lower (as they don't do the AP2.5 checks), and also wouldn't the OSIG checks flag you?

I know you said you can afford to lose it, I'm just wondering as I'm in the same boat.

Sorry mate i should have said original was a GDR-3120L, none of my Hitachi's are 78/79

From what i've read, manually injecting the key and not spoofing, does not spoof the OSIG.

When you think about it M$ must have had tens of thousands of units back in for repair with red light problems, i know i've sent quite a few in, so regarding key injecting, the following rings true to me.

Microsoft have apparently been replacing drives in faulty Xboxes with ones from different manufacturers, so it should be safe for anyone to do it going by that logic.
It would stand to reason that would be the case as the older drives become obsolete, and newer drives become more numerous. Surely they'd run out of old stock eventually and have to replace it with something newer.

How do you 'inject' the key instead of 'spoofing' ?

In JungleFlashers firmware tool open target firmware and load LT 2.0 firmware of the drive you want to use, then click manual spoofing and then load your Hitachi's key, and write.

Sorry mate that should have read load the LT 2.01 Samsung firmware, cause obviously it's the non ap25 Samsung you're using to replace your Hitachi.

Your living a bit more dangerously than me haha, but I've had this box on live for about 5yrs now so I'm quite attached to it and have my routine/rules that I stick to when playing with it (ie. never sign in on the dashboard etc)

Makes no difference but it's like a superstition thing now lol.

Just use my jtag offline for everything else, and now this LT3.0 is comin I don't think I'll risk XGD3's online with LT2.0 either.

Just had a quick read up and it seems Hitachi drives in general are shit when it comes to reading xdg3 games + there's also a fix coming out for 79 drives(which I have)

Turns out it was my BF3 single player disk which was knackered lol, it verified in IMGburn and Kprobe results were excellent, when first burned, but when i rechecked, it got unrecoverable errors, but disk looked fine??? and this on a Verbatim?

    Anyhow re-burned and all good.
