Level 80 now...
Am I going to be the first DF'er to 100? I'm on level 88... who's nearest?
I'm 75% of the way to getting a nightclub as my best property, I think it makes $86,000 a day if I'm not mistaken.
I'm on level 88, ain't got many high earners, but I am saving for that nightclub.

Just hit level 90 and I've got my $4m night club pulling $90,201 every 24 hours on its own.
I'm now on level 93, 900 points from level 94. Was saving but started a new area and wipped 2 million of my savings. robbing is the way forward to get you points up. Meat factories, warehouses and dinners.

On Sunday morning I started to collect my money and it crashed on my 3gs so started it again and my hood had gone and I was back at the start.
Got in touch with funzio and by 6pm it was back
I'm at level 90 as well.

By and large I enjoy messing around on this but I'm sick to the back teeth with being robbed. Fuck me what does the game do - wait until you're busy at work and then let people rob you? Really pissing me off.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...
Being robbed doesn't seem to be too much of a problem for me. Obviously empt my wallet in to the bank everytime I finish playing, plus I have lots of defence buildings and my stat points are spent mostly on defence, rather than attack.
Those who do manage to rob me end up being hounded day after day until I get me money back :-)

If I'm robbed when I'm asleep then it's easy to target them when they're most likely asleep too. However, I'm just not winning the robberies, and rarely the fights. If I find someone I beat I usually sit on their hood beating them up when I get 1 stamina back.
Some screen grabs:
Pretty meagre.

I'll bung some of my screeners up later if I think on... I've sold up my smaller buildings in favour of keeping 2 warehouses, 2 software houses and my nightclub. I'm concentrating on getting another nightclub at the earliest opportunity (it works out a better return for your money than upgrading the first one).
I've clocked up just over $1m of the $4m needed for club #2.

Beans,
Never go straight into a fight. (you probably already know this) Always click rob and check their stats first. If their mob defence is lower than your mob attack, kick fuck out of them and rob away. If they have more defence, walk away. You will find in your list of people to rob/attack that there is always a whipping boy with a much lower set of stats and it sounds like that could be you in many instances.
I'm playing this way and keep investing in equipment rather than buildings and I'm not suffering many losses (now)

One thing to note about being robbed and banking money. Banking removes 10% on deposit. Being robbed takes 10% off your cash. Build up a strong enough defence and never bank should solve it and allow you to keep the 10% you would normally lose. worst case is you get a twat that's bigger and harder than you at your level who takes your 10% which you would have lost through the bank anyway!
The 10% thing is true but if you have $10,000 out and someone fights you and they win they will get $1000 but if they press attack again and win they will get 10% of the $9,000 you have left and so on and this can go on until you or they can't fight any more and after 10 fights you will only end up with around $3800
@ Beans you need to up your total mafia attack & defence by buying weapons and armor to help stop you being attacked.
Use your respect points to buy weapons and armor and up those stats.
also what have you been spending your money on?
These are my stats
