Question can I get the HTC Sensation to access my network to grab music ?

    hi
gf has just had a HTC sensation XE(and I must say it is fucking great!) I will be heading over to HTC soon as my upgrade is due but, is there a way I can get it to access my network and play or download mp3's/movies to it?
still playing around with the thing..first impressions are it's a great bit of kit..

    cheers

For your music grab a google music account, upload your tracks there and stream from anywhere you have a network connection.
Works great for me 90% of the time, only struggle when i'm in an Edge network area.

I'm pretty sure google music is out of beta now but if you need an invite let me know, need a US VPN too but that's simple enough to sort out.

the other option is an app called subsonic, you download the software to your pc and phone and you can then listen to your music anywhere including other browsers

Saynoto0870 (Find landline equivalent to premium numbers)
    snappz market (market alternative )
    splashtop remote (remote desktop app)
    sygic (sat nav gps)
sky+ (record when away from home)
    youtube (no explanation needed)
    tunein radio (internet radio)
    quick office (office program)
chrome to phone (share bookmarks with chrome desktop and phone)
.........are all apps i regularly use.

Also highly recommend rooting the phone and installing Android Revolution ROM with latest faux kernel. Using that combo, with mobile data on, wifi on, a few calls, plenty of txts and a bit of browsing I managed 32hrs from a single charge with an Anker battery.

    Need help just ask.....

    Thanks to iNSPECTA

I rooted my XE last night but I'm just going to keep the stock rom on until there is an ICS rom available its near there on xda. I do notice the bigger battery that comes with the XE lasts a long time even when using the phone a lot

    Thanks to pumpman

Hi mate, sorry for the late reply.

Google Music is no longer in beta, invites are no longer available, the only way I know works 100% now is the following (hotspot shield & web proxies no longer work):

Download the appropriate version of Tor Browser bundle for your platform from:
    https://www.torproject.org/download/...d-easy.html.en

Install, load up the Vidalia control panel and click "Settings"

Navigate to the advanced section, click "Edit current torrc"

Paste the following into the bottom of the torrc file:

    ExcludeNodes {be},{pl},{ca},{za},{vn},{uz},{ua},{tw},{tr},{th}, {sk},{sg},{se},{sd},{sa},{ru},{ro},{pt},{ph},{pa}, {nz},{np},{no},{my},{mx},{md},{lv},{lu},{kr},{jp}, {it},{ir},{il},{ie},{id},{hr},{hk},{gr},{gi},{gb}, {fi},{es},{ee},{dk},{cz},{cy},{cr},{co},{cn},{cl}, {ci},{ch},{by},{br},{bg},{au},{at},{ar},{aq},{ao}, {ae},{nl},{de},{fr}

(This will force Tor to use a US exit node)

    Save the settings, restart Tor.

In the Tor tunneled Firefox that's now running, visit:
    http://music.google.com

** If you get an error about it only being available in the US, go back to the Tor Vidalia control panel and click the "Use a new identity" button (to pick a new exit node) and refresh the page. Repeat until you get a Google music login box.

Sign in with your existing Google account.

Once you have got into google music it'll ask you to accept the T&C's, once you have done that you can access without the proxy, it's only needed for the initial signup.
