Question Modern covers of Christmas Carols/Classics

I am putting a playlist together for a Christmas charity collection I am part of. We have built a sleigh complete with amp and speakers so we can play music as we tow the sleigh and collect donations from houses. In my mind we should be using upbeat music to put people in the spirit of things so they can enjoy our effort thus are more inclined to support our cause. One 'old school' member seems to think we should only use traditional music so as a compromise I am looking to add some carols with an upbeat twist. If the original is upbeat then there is no need for a cover but my main example is 'Silent Night' can be pretty depressing so we are best leaving the original to carol singers.

The covers can't be too 'heavy' as the speakers will distort, they were donated as we have built the entire sleigh on a very tight budget. Below is the playlist so far.

All I Want For Christmas Is You 4:04 Samantha Mumba
    Christmas Wrapping 5:23 The Waitresses
Driving Home For Christmas 4:00 Chris Rea
Frosty The Snowman 2:38 The Jackson 5
In Dulci Jubilo 2:50 Mike Oldfield
Is This Christmas? 3:35 The Wombats
Jingle Bells 2:36 The Puppini Sisters
Little Saint Nick 1:58 The Beach Boys
Not Tonight Santa 2:42 Girls Aloud
Rockin Around The Christmas Tree 2:04 Brenda Lee
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town 2:41 The Supremes
Stop The Cavalry 2:55 Jona Lewie
What Christmas Means To Me 2:28 Stevie Wonder
    Winter Wonderland 2:16 Patrizio Buanne
Wonderful Christmas Time 3:45 Paul McCartney
Do They Know It's Christmas? (1984 Original Version) 3:41 Band Aid
I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday 4:39 Wizzard
Step Into Christmas 4:10 Elton John
Do They Know It's Christmas? 5:07 Band Aid 20
Fairytale Of New York Feat. Kirsty MacColl 4:31 The Pogues
    Lonely Pup 1:47 Adam Faith
Jingle Bell Rock 2:02 Bobby Helms
Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer 2:09 Burl Ives
Let It Snow 1:55 Dean Martin
Warm This Winter 2:35 Gabriella Cilmi
    Santa Baby 3:22 Kylie Minogue
    Merry Xmas Everybody 3:43 Slade

Any suggestions much appreciated, I am on YouTube searching for carols to see what covers crop up but thought some DFers might have some personal favourites that fit the purpose.

    Added:
The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You) 3:10 Nat King Cole Trio
    Pixie Lott - Silent Night

No Use For a Name did a great punk cover of fairytale of New York.

You also need the Darkness on there and the bo selecta tune!

Had to take the darkness off after our first night collecting as it distorted too badly Also I wanted the Bo Selecta tune on there but no-one agreed

Thanks Beaconboy, will listen to them and see if they are upbeat enough. Will have to pass on Mr. Glitter though I do have the other two but had dismissed them so will give them another go.
