ebay non paying bidder

is it me or has ebay started to go downhill rapidly

sold an xbox 360 last week didnt receive a payment so filed an unpaid thingy through ebay

just had a reply from the buyer

"hi i jus came from holiday and my little nephew bid it so please my apoligy i dont want it can u send me the cancellation thank u"

never had a non payer before

can i make them pay lol

Looks like it was the "little nephew" who wrote that reply to you what with the bad spelling and grammar. Sounds fishy.

a few years ago one of my daughters did a similar thing she decided she wanted a couple of games for whatever console it was at the time
within half an hour she had set up her own ebay account and bid on 3 or 4 different games
i had to apologize to the sellers and explain what had happened
i think she was about 9 or 10 at the time

just cancel the transaction and you will get your fees back. To be honest this is the best week for selling on ebay coming up to xmas so you will probably get more for it once you relist it unless its buy it now. I had a guy the other day buying a star wars lego advent calendar and he paid a few days late. Had me on pins though as you dont want to be left with an over priced advent calendar going into December. Cant believe how much they were going for.

Report him and he will get a non paying strike. all you can do. you can ask for fees to be refunded also but from what i can tell its a pain in the @ss to do

ebay is ok if you stop worrying about picking up a few bad feedback points along the way. some buyers will string you along if they think they can use the threat of a bad mark against you. It is a pain in the ass but as long as you arnt in a rush for the fees, you should get them back.

hadnt heard anything for a while so lookign on ebay today i decided to close the case and get the seller fees back

i followed the instructions on ebay and now have got this email back

The buyer, ebenezer1985, has rejected your request to cancel the transaction for (#120818620141) . As a result, you will not receive a Final Value Fee credit for this transaction. Please complete this transaction with the buyer

what am i supposed to do next he wont pay and it looks like i cant get the fees now

Reopen another case, email him and ask why his nephew rejected the request to cancel the transaction.
Start getting a bit shitty - after all, he requested you cancel!

I start all bidding for items at 99p and make sure they are for sale for between 7-10 days. That way the listing is free. (unless you use fancy fonts etc)

9 times out of 10 your item will sell for what it's worth, and if you do get some sort of prick refusing to pay then you don't lose anything as it hasn't cost you anything to list.

Ring them - I had some grief a while back and clicking pages didn't work. Had to speak to paypal - 1st woman I spoke to understood my point but couldn't be arsed sorting it. Hung up and rung again immediately then got through to someone who did sort it.

Also i used to start auctions at a penny years ago until I ended up giving someone a shell of a peugeot 406 coupe in good condition along with the wiring loom, auto gearbox and a 3.0 v6 engine with a blown head gasket for 1 penny. Now I just do buy it nows as it makes life easier. Serious rip off though once you add all the fees.
