Just as i was beginning to look forward to the europa league
It's a funny old game
cant see it happening in my opinion, time will tell.
Even if they dont comply united wont get the place. Anytime this has happened in other sports it has just meant the team that would have played the team in question goes through. There would be uproar to put a team back in, this aint X Factor!
My question is ......why do Manchester utd get the back door treatment if true, to the champions league???
There's better teams also out of the comp
Erm...cos we were in the same group, and finished 3rd behind them, meaning they directly affected our qualification (or failure of).
How did they directly affect the better teams in other groups?
Even if they don't sort it out (which I think they will - the money they will make for getting through will see to that) I think the replacement should probably be the best placed 3rd team, or a playoff between the best two 3rd places teams, but I doubt this would happen either.
I hope they don't get a reprieve. From the poor showing they gave, they don't even deserve the Europa League. I reckon they should try and sign Ozil, as he is pissing off Mourinho.
I really dont think this will happen, but the reason its manchester united being given the reprieve is simple. FC sion knocked Celtic out of the UEFA cup and then as they were thrown out, Celtic were put back into the competition, which is why manchester united are the team to get the reprieve as they were the next best finisher. To be honest i hope that it doesnt happen because Basel havent done anything, they earned their place fair and square and as they havent cheated they should not be punished for it. THe worst case scenario should be that Basel complete their run in this competition and if FIFA want to impose a ban on swiss clubs it should be from next season as they have already banned the offending team from european competition.

I'm in total agreement with the sentiments expressed here. Whilst I think it would be amusing to see the Dippers literally explode, United are out of the competition, FAIRLY beaten out of it because they couldn't beat Basle home or away, and sorry, but I feel the "ignominy" of being in the Europa League is more than United deserve.
Saying that, we cannot deny there IS a rather major precedent previously been set by UEFA where a whole country was banned from European competition for five years based on the "actions" (I say this loosely, I really don't want it to cause an argument because I really am not spoiling for one) of a set of fans from one club.
Trust me when you went out last time i did explode and the wife would be delighted if you went back in it so that when you went out again she could get "another" of the best five minutes of her life.
I'm pretty confident you wouldn't win it anyway so you going back in (whilst a good chance to have a moan) would ultimately just give us even more of a chance to mock you all some more.

Obviously i was messing my sexual prowess isn't actually affected by football results,I'm always a fantastic lover.
Stops me blowing my load early anyway.
That you can get a hard-on with the mrs even wearing a United shirt is beyond me, I certainly couldn't "return the favour" if Mrs BBK was sporting a Liverpool shirt ;-)
Oh and yes, I agree - United would go out next round anyway.
