the jailbreak appears to have been patched but my understanding is the os2 beta is a developers release and using the above method allows the bar files to be loaded without going through the BB app store.

According to the list Kindle is listed as working fine

Im on my macbook just now trying to wrestle my win lappie from my daughter so I can install the msi file on it to sideload the apps onto my BB PB

if your on OS2 beta, you just throw developer mode on your Playbook and use DDPBInstaller to install the bars.

BTW some of the BARS didnt work earlier, but Tapatalk and the Squeezebox app did.

If you get me the APKS for any apps you want ill get the converted into bars

Ive left the BARS on my works machine which i used to author them, ill get them uploaded tomorrow

Thanks guys, I had held off updating to the beta but I will do so now. FYI, the IRC channel says you can be jailbroken on the latest firmware if you jailbreak on a previous firmware before updating, but I've neither the time nor the inclination to go through that tbh.

managed to install a bar file . excellent thanks . when i put dev mode on it says it expires in 10 days? anyone else get this?

Dont worry about it mate it just set to expire everytime you switch it on, but resets everytime you go back into developers mode

sorry, just to be clear (I'm a complete noob on this one)

I need to install OS2.0.0.6149 beta (already done)

Then 24 hours later, I need to roll back to OS 1.?????
and afterwards install the app DDBP when the playbook is in development mode

Hey guys about once you register your device for the os2.0 beta you need to wait 24 hours before rolling back.
Once installed download the app DDPB installer from the post above.

Then
1. Put your playbook into development mode (Click Settings then Security you will see it there)
2. Create your password.
3. Connect to pc (But dont open Blackberry Desktop Manager)
4. Run the installer that you downloaded.
5. On the left handside you will see it asks for an IP address and password. If you click refresh the ip address should auto appear
6. Goto to hear for Bar file http://bit.ly/apk2bar
7. Once you have seen a Bar file you like download and extract.
8. On DDPB installer click add and navigate to your Bar file.
9. Click Install

well Ive got ES file explorer working it doesnt find my server when I do a scan like it does on my android phone but if I input the details manually it connects fine. One thing Ive found is that it does not play the avi container AC3 movies on my server and reading the list of working apps vlc pro which is a paid for app will work I dont mind paying to get the apk but has anyone found another app that works like VLC to play ac3 movies , I dont want to convert the 100's of GBs that I have on the server

if anyone has any they would like converting just send me the APKs and ill do them for you.

So far i have done the below APKs and they seem to work fine.

Squeeze Player (haven't tested as not at home)
Road Trip
Fruit Ninja
Plantz Vs Zombies

Angry Birds / RIO / Seasons
UPNP Player (not 100% if it works)

Sorry mate for not being clear, you do not need to roll back, what i was meaning to the earlier post was you cant roll back for 24 hours after you installed the beta os

Yeah, Kindle is really nice. Good call.

Also tried to put apps into folders on the last software but it didn't work - I see it does now, makes things a lot tidier.
