Help Bidder won my auction paid not collected??

Sold some gear end of november, had no response for ages about payment or collection so after a few messages and invoice I sent them a last one of 'I really naffed off, just had fees to pay going to relist and report you' my girlfriend messaged me to say she got a paypal payment same day, I gave her details for payment to them, but she said it was a paypal cheque, I read about how paypal cheques work and told the buyer you can pickup whenever you want after payment cleared, No response from them? Payment cleared £400 sat in gf's account, cleared 2 weeks ago.

They said they would collect, the items would have to be send by courier on a pallet which they have not paid for, they are about 200 miles away from me, I thought it would of been worth the £50 to pallet and send stuff.

What should I do, I can't store the gear for much longer should I charge them storage? lol

Get a quote from a storage company and send it to them, give them a time limit after which it will be disposed of.
    If at first you don't succeed.....redefine success. . . .

    Thanks to blaggard

parcel2go seem to be able to quote parcelfarce prices a lot cheaper than going direct.

Email them and say, a storage charge will be incurred unless collection is arranged, storage fee say £50 week after 8 weeks your safe to resell as the £400 they sent will cover the storage fee's
Only in Britain….do we use the word “politics” to describe the process of Government. “Poli” in Latin meaning “many” and “tics” meaning “bloodsucking
    creatures”

Make sure all communication is made through ebay so if they then make a paypal claim the messages can be referenced too. Problem is paypal is heavily weighed in the buyers favour as they don't want a chargeback or they are out of pocket so you can play it as fair as you like but if they initiate a paypal case you will probably lose. Withdraw the money to your bank but keep it there in case you have to refund, send them a message via. ebay to say you have not heard from them, could they collect by x (give them at least a week) and if they do not they will be charged storage then add if they do not collect or pay storage by x (at least a fortnight) it will be disposed of. Also post them a letter with the same message via. recorded delivery and keep the tracking number safe.

Could you sell it again elsewhere and get the same kind of money?

    Thanks to evilsatan

I would ring up paypal/ebay on this one. you have done nothing out of hand and when he said "I can pickup" was this thru ebay messaging?. You need all the proof as already said at hand. if this case goes not in your favour you still should be able to get the fees back on what info you have already said here.

    Thanks to Mickey

Gotta be close to coming out of Paypal's time limit of 45 days to file a claim though. They won't touch it after that.
Dunno if he can do anything with his CC company if he paid through that (I tend to use my CC card through eBay with expensive items).
Claim for your fees & re-sell or re-sell and take your fees out of the funds he's sent. Sit on the money until they get back to you for it.
Anything could have happened - the bloke might have been taken ill or worse. I know my missus wouldn't have a clue about what I had going on if I dropped dead.

    Thanks to Zoots

If the claim date is expired then paypal won't open a dispute. If he is savvy enough to have his cc firm run a chargeback on paypal though it wouldn't surprise me if they put your account in the negative. They are very sly, I don't trust them at all but they are so convenient I have to use them.

I am sure you can do a charge back on a credit card several months after the transaction.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've messaged them again saying this is my seventh attempt to get you to collect, do you want to pay for courier, otherwise I need to arrange storage at £x per week. I could sell the gear for a lot more I think, my pal gave me his post mix soft drinks setup from his pub almost new, someone is selling similar setups with less equipment for £1200. They have a bargain don't know why no reply tho?? I also found a phone number in and earlier email which I hadn't noticed until today but I got no answer when I rang, but I did also gave them my number.

Thanks for the courier details, I've never sent anything this big before that's why I preferred collection.
