Took delivery of my rather nice new conveyance yesterday. I can NOT wait to hit the trails at Llandegla on this baby --- http://www.cube.eu/en/29er/ltd-pro-29/

Oooo that's a big un. Looks good mate. These are a very well specced bike for the money, very nearly got one on Cycle to Work scheme. Get it battered.

Was gonna suggest some RaceFace D3O knee/shin pads that they had on sale on CRC from 90 down to 38 but just checked and they sold out. They were fucking mint but they still have some that are just knees still going cheap. Some good stuff in their sale though.

Cheers for the Heads up on the pads. Will have a look anyway

Cliff, I must admit the SLR's are a tad on the big side. Mind you though, if I decided to take it out, then I'd have it in my rucksack and would take it a lot easier anyway
If you are considering it then the Dakine do a cracking snowboarding camera backpack that is padded to the nines.

hehe, aye, it'll have to get dirty and soon
Have you looked into that scheme in detail....I took a look at it when I bought my BMX last year, and it appeared to be somewhat shite....you never own the bike for a start...and I mean "never" !....and when I googled for some online shops participating, the first few I looked at were adding % on to the price if you were using the scheme, or werent accepting them atall on any bike that was in any kind of sale.
Sounds like you were looking at some duff shops! They don't all accept them, but the ones that do should accept them for any bike.
As for ownership of the bike it depends on who you work for. They are supposed to sell it to you at the end of the scheme for a nominal amount, our place don't they just write them off. I got my gt avalanche through it and saved loads due to the tax savings. Was going to get another after this one finished but nowhere to keep it!
I'll see if I can dig out the company (HP) emails about it on Monday and c&p anything relevant that I either didn't understand correctly, or put me off it.....though we did have a discussion (me and my workmates) about it at the time, and all agreed it didn't appear that good.
But just now, I tried to Google "cyclescheme"....top hit is Ribble Cycles, go into it, and they charge a £65 "administration" fee for any cycle bought on the scheme....thats one of the ones I remember looking at.
Haha my mate works at Ribble. They are cunts. A lot of shops add ten percent but I was looking to use Leisure Lakes, no fee on purchase and localish. They have clarified the deal at work IIRC but registration closed on 16th Dec. It's worthwhile on a dear bike depending on your tax bracket.
