As an ex moderator of the site and someone whom was approached by phone with an offer to become Admin on the site I am more than happy to give a witness statement as to the purpose and content of the site, the email evidence along with posts that are still available on the net show clearly that the OD software was available via THOiC along with info on how to hack CFT2100 analogue cable boxes and many many other things. As someone prosecuted for running a hacking advisory service on evidence which was supplied mainly by NDS I find it disgusting that the SAME laws are not being applied to those who were responsible for THOiC i.e. Gibling, Adams, Withall, Coulthurt and Gutman at the very least.
These people in my opinion were instrumental in providing a website which allowed people to gain services by making modifications to smart cards and set top boxes, something I myself served a jail sentence for along with my co defendant Novice. This was termed a hacking advisory service by none other than NDS staff, something which THOiC also clearly was. The 'THOiC Offline Ezine' was a hacking guide copyrighted to THOiC in 2001, pre dating Novice Angels cable guide by 7 years, this is further evidence to show that NDS were actively involved in undermining payTV in this country way before he was. I am not saying what Novice did was right and I am sure he also agrees but I am saying what THOiC/NDS did was WRONG.
The evidence is overwhelming, the police have a televised witness statement from the man who ran it himself and STILL there is inaction from the authorities. The law in the UK should apply to everyone and as such an investigation should be being carried out, failure to do so is unacceptable. TBH an investigation should of actually been carried out when I brought the accusations against NDS to the police during my police interviews. I was told that NDS had been informed and that the police did not think it important to the case.
I do not seek in anyway shape or form to alter my position of guilty as charged nor do I wish to belittle the outcome in favour of Virgin Media for whom I think the out come was correct, I do however find it appalling that the police took the word of NDS staff rather than ask me what proof I had to back up my claims. I could of very easily provided them with the evidence at the time given the chance to present it to them.
I think the whole thing is bloody disgusting and I am sure I am not the only one to agree.

Can't all of this evidence be collated together and sent to Ofcom as a total package, rather than it be released piecemeal into the public domain? The Police obviously have no interest, but Ofcom have an investigation in progress and why not let them sift through it all, to decide who needs to be dragged in to have more questions asked?
If the evidence has been suppressed, then go straight to the top. The Police have possibly been looking after their own by their inaction (Adams and Withall), so cut them, Sky and NDS out of the loop.

No, I mean who are the interviewers, or are you saying that it has come from testimony given to the enquiry? It's not clear from your last post. Who is looking for information, not that I've got any....
Hi
its more about the European channels allegedly compromised by maidenhead lab and the previous employees of said lab are having stories peddled in marketplace by a famous PR consultant.....I think I would rather say no more at this stage.

Ofcom has launched an investigation into the hacking of private email accounts by Sky News.
It comes after Sky admitted earlier this month it accessed the accounts of "canoe man" John Darwin and his wife Anne; and a suspected paedophile.
At the time Sky defended its actions as being in the public interest and said it was "responsible journalism".
The head of Sky News, John Ryley, is due to give evidence to the Leveson Inquiry later.
An Ofcom spokesperson said: "Ofcom is investigating the fairness and privacy issues raised by Sky News' statement that it had accessed without prior authorisation private email accounts during the course of its news investigations. We will make the outcome known in due course."
Ofcom's broadcasting code includes a clause - Rule 8.1 - which states that: "Any infringement of privacy in programmes, or in connection with obtaining material included in programmes, must be warranted."
A spokeswoman for Sky News said: "As the head of Sky News, John Ryley, said earlier this month, we stand by these actions as editorially justified.
"The Crown Prosecution Service acknowledges that there are rare occasions where it is justified for a journalist to commit an offence in the public interest.
"The Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer told the Leveson inquiry that 'considerable public interest weight' is given to journalistic conduct which discloses that a criminal offence has been committed and/or concealed."
Met looks into claims ex-News Corp subsidiary aided attack on pay-TV rival
NDS allegedly linked to pirating of electronic key to service that was later rebranded as ITV Digital

The Metropolitan police is looking into allegations that a former News Corporation subsidiary was involved in helping computer hackers undermine BSkyB's ill-fated pay-TV rival ITV Digital.
It has emerged that in March the Met received an allegation of a "copyright offence" relating to the alleged activity of encryption technology business NDS around the year 2000, when it was owned by News Corp, and is assessing whether to launch a full investigation.
"[I] can confirm that following a screening of Panorama in March 2012, a copyright offence has been alleged to the Metropolitan Police Service," said a spokeswoman for Scotland Yard. "The allegation was reported to police in March this year and relates to an alleged offence circa 2000."
The Met decided to look into the NDS allegations following a request by Labour MP Tom Watson, investigative website Exaro reported earlier in the week.
The Met spokeswoman said that the allegation has not at this stage been escalated to the level of a full investigation, but that an information-gathering process has been started. "The matter is currently subject to assessment," said the spokeswoman. The assessment is being handled by officers from the Met's specialist crime and operations command.
The allegation stems from a BBC Panorama report broadcast in March last year that linked NDS to the pirating of conditional access cards for ONdigital, giving viewers free access to channels operated by the Carlton and Granada-owned pay-TV rival to BSkyB, in which News Corp has a 39.1% stake. ONdigital, rebranded ITV Digital, collapsed in 2002.
Panorama's claims were based on allegedly incriminating emails and interviews with two people apparently involved: a German hacker, who said he cracked the ONdigital codes, and the operator of a piracy website, who said he distributed the codes to other pirates to manufacture counterfeit conditional access cards. Both alleged that they were recruited on NDS's behalf by Ray Adams, its then head of UK security.
Chase Carey, News Corp's chief operating officer and Rupert Murdoch's right-hand man, criticised the Panorama report last year, saying the BBC had "presented manipulated and mischaracterised emails to produce unfair and baseless accusations".
Abe Peled, the chairman of NDS, accused Panorama of having "seriously misconstrued legitimate activities" the company undertakes in running its encryption business.
He said the programme was in "flagrant disregard [of] the BBC's broadcasting code, misleading viewers and inciting widespread misreporting".
NDS, based in Staines, near Heathrow, plays a key role in Murdoch's global media empire. It provides the encryption technology that enables BSkyB and News Corp's other pay-TV businesses around the world to issue subscribers with set-top boxes and conditional access cards that allow them to watch channels they have paid for.
In March 2012, before the Panorama report about NDS was broadcast, it was announced that the business would be sold to Cisco for $5bn by its joint owners, News Corp and private equity firm Permira. NDS also works with other companies and now supplies encryption software to a third of the world's pay-TV operators.
News Corp and NDS had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.
• This story was amended on 8 June 2013 to add a reference to Exaro's report that the request to look into the NDS allegations came from Tom Watson MP
