Attention Capello quits as England manager

    Capello quits as England manager

Fabio Capello has resigned as England manager, the Football Association has confirmed.
Capello resigned following a meeting with FA chairman David Bernstein and general secretary Alex Horne at Wembley Stadium.
An FA statement read: "The Football Association can confirm that Fabio Capello has today resigned as England manager."
    More to follow.

I don't blame Capello for going, because as much as i hate John Terry, what happened to innocent until proven guilty?

In the long run it will probably work out better for England with Harry Rednapp as manager.

I'm delighted. He should have been sacked the second the whistle blew against Germany in SA last year, a total debacle of a World Cup IMO. Feel sorry for Spurs fans though if Harry does get the job.

Capello was right about Terry. Innocent until proven guilty... Even though the video seemed pretty incriminating.

And I also don't think Harry will take the job....!

So that leaves us with Pearce. Great. Capello was 100 times the manager.

After Pearce who else is there?

If we can take a successful manager like Capello, moan about the fact he can't turn 11 limited footballers into Brazil and make him seem like an idiot, who else is going to want the job?

There isn't anyone who is going to meet expectations, I am afraid. He made mistakes. But there is no-one better. Harry is flavour of the moment. Give him a tournament with England and all the idiots who were slagging him off a few years ago will be back....!

I'd have Pearce any day of the week. We need someone with bollocks, with passion, someone who can cut down the amount of egos in the England camp. He ticks the right boxes for me.

Rant Re: Capello quits as England manager

Does it matter?, does it make any difference? I am glad to be in the position of answering that... NO we are not good enough to win and have not been good enough to win since 1966, every four years I get conned into believing we have a chance like a child convinced the paedophile really does have some baby bunny rabbits and will let him/her play with them only to be screwed.

I am and never have been a great football fan and am far from an expert but even I can see we are total shit and most of our teams are made up of foreign players so how can we get it together on the world stage when we can't even fill our own domestic game, I will never see us win a world cup in my lifetime or in the next forty years what ever comes first. I will dig this thread up after every world cup and say see told you... not even good enough to make the final never mind win and that also goes for the UEFA European Football Championship.

'We Are Shit And We Know We Are' - keep saying it over and over then soon like me you will believe it

But... He can't manage. Which is surely his main role.

    Pearce is the man.
Why not appoint his brother assistant.

    two racists together with Terry.
    Beautiful

In soccer terms England is 3rd class and that's why it appointed a foreign manager.

Pearce is not the answer, not experienced enough and unproven. It has to be Redknapp or if we are looking abroad, Hiddink would be quality.

Redknapp would be no better than capello imo, he is not a tactical manager all motivation, England don't have the players in key areas to play the redknapp way, big striker fast wingers win the second ball, played this at pompey and west ham, this would soon be sussed out at international level imo.
He has shown he struggles to change a game from the bench and doesn't really have a plan b.
Been fairly lucky at spurs to inherit the players he did, although bear in mind only an injury crisis stopped him sending bale out to forrest on loan, not convinced he can spot a player either given some of his purchases over the years, although you can probably level that at most managers.
Having said thus he is still prob the best English candidate.

Anyone who thinks Harry redknapp, good as he is , is the magic answer is deluded
He's the best English candidate at present.
Unfortunately whoever gets the job (redknapp included) is doomed to failure , as the knives are always out from day one in The press.
And Stuart Pearce couldn't manage a piss

He will know that being the England manager damages your reputation, regardless of what you do and how good you are.

Guus Hiddink is the best option. Proven track record at International level. Redknapp is another Mclaren waiting to happen but he's probably the best English manager at the minute. Redknapp has only won the F.A cup in a career spanning how many years? Hardly the most ringing endorsement.
