I can't remember as it has been a while since I put Dharma on my Revo but will I have to do a complete new install or can I write Eden over Dharma and keep all my settings. I fear it is a new install.

XBMC is just awesome. Shame they didn't get the high def audio working in this one. (Yes I know I can get external players like MPC-HC but still...)

If you are using XBMC live you can upgrade using the unstable repo through terminal as there is no XBMC live install package for Eden yet. I have done this for each Eden build and works fine.

    Take some extracts from here:

Did my one last night. Had to gaff around a bit as I couldn't remember my login so couldn't SSH into it but got it done in recovery mode.

On top of the many bug fixes though, we are pleased to officially announce the first beta of XBMCbuntu. With this beta release, we have chosen to slightly shift the focus of the pre-built XBMC Live install. In the past, XBMC Live was optimized for a pure set-top box experience. In the switch to XBMCbuntu, we are pushing to a more traditional ‘buntu approach that emphasizes first trying and then ultimately installing XBMC onto the local machine.
Was only a matter of time, I usually install XBMC from the repo's anyway on my Ubuntu setups, but good to know they are now doing a proper desktop themselves.

Dts audio works as normal, the patch for windows XBMC means that it will now also decode HD audio formats as well, ie- dts-ma and Dolby trueHD.

You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

I had stopped using xbmc for a while since the latest version stopped seeing the wireless card in my revo - I had to install ubuntu on it to do anything with it

Just got the latest eden beta, and it connected to my network during the install

Now I can watch all my stuff on me tele again - Hooray!! All my mkv's and various other file types are free, no more converting everything to avi for streaming through me xbox

Let's hope it's not too buggy...

I had some issues getting the HDMI Audio working with Beta 3 on my Acer Revo. You need to configure the Audio settings as Custom and set then both to 'plughw:1,3' without the quotes to get HDMI Audio and Pass Thru working.

Also, MySQL Database name changes from MyVideos58 to MyVideos60, so Eden B1 & B2 devices will not read the Database from an Eden B3 created MySQL Database and vice versa.

Installation was pretty slow and it failed to reboot on it's own - I had to manually turn it off

But it started up fine - plays everything I've tried so far

Cheers for the tips Dejavu, but I tried setting the video and audio output to HDMI (ALSA) and it worked first time

Just relocating the iplayer plugin and ftping it to the revo and I'm sorted

Im using developer builds of OpenElec, and am convinced its made everything smoother - ie nearly completely getting rid of the "judder" on panning scenes, that some Revo's seem to suffer with.

Also love the automatic movie sets and overall "snappyness" of it now.

Oh and YouTube signing in is also working now
