haxoware 250 modem

can i use a haxoware 250 modem to replace my ntl 250 one that is slowly dying ? I've tried to contact them after spending nearly all day trying to get through to someone who not only says English but actually understands the words, trying to make them understand the modem is foobared.

There is no way to email them and the site just takes you around and around to the same stupid 0845 number, I'm not happy, so was going to stick an 250 with haxo i've got lying around in place of the dying one and sort it myself, Anybody know what settings i'd need to put across obviously the original mac.

Edit, It seems to boot and work for a while if i power it down for 10 mins,

I had a 250 swapped for a superhub the other week (for free) after a 10min call on their 150 number.
The 250 stopped working after disconnecting it for the 1st time in about 4 years. It wouldn't sync when I plugged it back in so the sync light just kept flashing
They didn't upgrade me to 30M tho when I activated the superhub, I think they want paying for that

what rev of haxor is on as the latest rev is 39 , your getting the upstream and the downstream so thats ok , make sure your bpi is set to docsis1.0 then its just a mac basically

No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out is usually your upstream power too high (over 55dbmv).

You can call them out to adjust the settings on the green cabinet or you can fit a 6db attenuator to the cable like the one below.
