If you have a NAND-X you don't need all that, all you need is the Coolrunner, slim QSB's and NAND-X to Coolrunner programming cable.

Make sure your NAND-X is on v3 code, if it's not then you need to update it which requires a CK3 to NAND-X update cable or USB to NAND-X update cable. Using the NAND-X will be less likely to have issues than LPT also.

Also all new Coolrunners are Rev B which has the 68nf cap built in, you just need to bridge a jumper on the Coolrunner to enable it, but the cap is only really needed on Jaspers TBH.

so far i have this in my cart:

Xecuter NAND-X & CoolRunner Slim QSB Install Kit

Xecuter CK3 to NAND-X Update Cable

Xecuter NAND-X To CoolRunner JTAG Cable

Xecuter CoolRunner CPLD Development Board Rev B

Xecuter POST QSB For Xbox 360 Slim

i take it Xecuter NAND-X & CoolRunner Slim QSB Install Kit does both nandx and coolerrunner bit so dont need to buy any other cables to connect the nandx programmer to the board

    thanks!

Yup, that's right, mate. Should be all you need right there mate and the slim QSB has the connections to allow you to connect your NAND-X.

i personally wouldnt use the QSB wire it directly less likely to have problems. Because if you dont do the QSB right first time then you have to remove it which is no easy task.

QSB's have all the connectors for NAND-X fitted though, and it's a piece of piss to do. Just line it up, solder 1 spot, make sure it's still lined up, solder another spot in the opposite corrner to hold it in place, double check it's still where it should be, then solder all the other spots.

You only get problems when you don't check your work as you go. Another little tip, after it's all soldered in, leave the 3.3v wire for the CR dis-connected and fire up your console, just to be sure it still loads up to NXE and games, etc work fine. Once that is done and you know nothing went wrong while soldering then connect the 3.3v wire for the CR and glitch as normal.

This just ensures that you didn't do anything wrong with the soldering and if you have problems later it's most likely not a soldering issue.

    Thanks to Mario87

all is found on team xecuter forum. Make sure you dont unravel the blue wire for the slim. Its supposed to stay in the loop to help boot times. download Jtag tool by cool shirmp makes everything easy

For phyical installation, use this.... http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=74856

For actually setting up the RGH, JTAG Tool is probably the easiest way, follow this... http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=75945

The 2nd guide says it's for Phat consoles, but the procedure for slims is identical.

To update to NXE 14699 after the RGH is done (using JTAG tool puts you on 13599 IIRC), follow this... http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=77381

If you are unlucky enough to have bad blocks in the first 50 blocks of your NAND when reading it, then follow this... http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=76014

However you only need that if the bad blocks are in the first 50 blocks, where the ECC image goes.

Just remember with the Post QSB for the blue wire, cut the blue wire down to 8cm, because when you hook up to the 50cm point on the post QSB it is actually 42cm + 8cm blue wire from the CR to the QSB.

Other than that, just make sure your soldering is up to scratch, use flux, be patient and remember to trim down the exposed wire length. I find you have to trim the exposed wire on the wires to about 1/3 of the length they arrive with the CR, otherwise you are at risk of shorts on other components.

Oh and a bit of hot glue to hold it all down.

He's ordered a slim QSB, so the blue wire needs to be cut down to 8cm.

    hi guys

just finished the RGH, all went well, got one bad black when i was reading the initial nand with jtag tool but was above block 50 so hopefully ok.

i chose to build image with dashlaunch v2.27 in 360_Multi_Builder_v0.7 and i think it used 14699 as thats what its running now

anyway, ive booted into the normal dashboard, how do i get to dashlaunch?

    thanks!

Dashlaunch just allows you to boot directly into things like XeXMenu & Freestyle Dash, etc without having to boot into NXE first.

Get hold of Freestyle Dash from teamfsd.com and install it. I use the DVD ISO version. The site appears to have been down all night tho.

Will upload the ISO for you tomorrow after work if you don't manage to get it before hand.

    Thanks to Mario87

It's working now, was down last night for some reason. Redbu11 has linked to what you need. I just downloaded and burnt the DVD ISO to disc then slap it in the 360 and it will say "play game". Run it and follow the onscreen prompts.

However when asked about the LIVE patch option say no (press B) because there is a bug with the latest FSD where if you sat yes then XBLA games remain locked and you'll have to manually change the launch.ini later. This will save you doing that.

    Thanks to Mario87
