So I just watched this movie, first of because it's more like a biography, I would find this more interesting.
The character in history/the subject is also interesting, though Hoover having such a long career and accomplishing so much during his career, it doesn't get so much into details, about interesting stuff that happened during his time with the Bureau, Kennedy's, King, mobs, Dillinger etc.
The movie is well put together (Eastwood), and moving back and forth in time works well for the story.
Di Caprio then as Hoover? well, I'm that sort of person who finds it hard to take actors with similar careers as Tom Cruise seriously, but Di Caprio has gotten better and better, and I think this must be his best role, that I've seen.
I do believe that for the most part viewers age plays a role here, I mean if you are going to enjoy this movie or not. I'm 40, so that's a starting point
Also, I think I would have reviewed this differently, had I gone to the cinema, so this movie is better enjoyed at home
I liked the movie very much, in fact I think it was brilliant, and I could have easily watched an extended edition.
