OK, i have 2 x movies outstanding to watch, X-Men First Class or Captain America. However, my 8 year old wants to watch one with me. My questions are:
Are either suitable for an 8yr old?
If you had to pick one, which would it be?
Ta!

I would probably opt for Captain America. IMO both are suitable (no swearing, sex or gore) but in X-Men there are a couple of death scenes which could be more emotional and holocaust references. I can't remember Captain America in as much detail but I do remember thoroughly enjoying both films (best X-Men movie IMO).

Capt. America all the way. More like a comic book than Xmen.

Depends what your kid is like, Captain America has the dodgy looking red headed bloke, could be a bit scary, and its utter shite as a film! Xmen was good though

When I was born, I was given a choice - A big dick or a good memory. I don't remember, what I chose

Thor I quite enjoyed as did my kids, 6 and 9, I struggled to get them to watch Captain America to the end, really didn't hold there attention, fingers crossed the Avengers is good! Looks it so far

Aye, I was disappointed in Captain America. And don't bother with The Human Centipede.
Thor was better than both of them. Watch that with the kids, they will love it.
