    Retro Dreamcast Revisted

Just pulled the dreamcast from the loft after forgetting it was there after 7-8 years.
fired up and wouldnt read discs, tinkered and seems to be the lid not pushing the little lever rigth back so playing 18 wheeler with the lid off lol.

gutted it wont play the light gun games with my lcd tv, was right looking forward to some zombie action.

Got almost 450 games to go back through but started off with the favs, anyone else got 1 hiding in a cupboard?

    Consoles.

Got a couple of DC's lying around, I bring em out occasionally for the odd bout of soul calibur, ikaruga and jet set radio It's still one of my favourite consoles, as you say, a shame the light gun doesn't work on LCD, house of the dead was crackin' on DC.

Mine has had regular revivals as I have sorted through old disks, last time I tried it, it was taking ages to read copies and wouldnt read backups at all. I considered getting one of those SD card apapter things that can boot ISOs but promptly forgot all about it until now.

I love/loved my Dreamcast...such a tradegy that it was beaten hands down by the schoolyard "I must have a ps2 mummy" brigade, along with "It will have to be a ps2 for little johnny, I dont want his ps1 games going to waste"....clueless fkn idiots.
Such a vast amount of AAA titles... Crazy Taxi, Crazy Taxi 2, 18 Wheeler, Samba De Amigo, Bass Fishing, Jet Set Radio, Quake 3 and so many more.
I keep thinking I should dig mine out just to make sure it still works...I often wonder if its ok to leave it for so long, what with it having liquid cooling n'all...wonder if its sat rusting through where the water has settled.

I fucking loved the dreamcast... Wish sega would go back into the console business... It will make them make more arcade games aswell...

Nothing like a good arcade game.

I use emulators for dreamcast i have configured my Hyperspin Front end for dream cast im using an xbox 360 pad and its working fine

I have Hyperspin setup on over 30 different game systems the front end alone is over 100gb of files all the roms for the emultators comes in at 1.8 TB
The setup alone took me over 3 monts to set up and download the roms
im in the proccess of putting this in a big 4 player cab so I can hammer gauntlet
if any one needs info on setting up Hyperspin or pointing in the right direction on roms let me know via PM

    6 Thanks given to Modcoms

Is HyperSpin free? I've just got a core 2 duo PC with a asus HD 4350 512mb and fancy getting some emulators set up. Will that play all consoles apart from Wii, ps3 and 360? I've got xbmc so anything that works with that will be good.

The Dreamcast was very underrated at the time. I wasted literally weeks of my life playing through Shenmue, I could not believe the Quality of the graphics on Virtua Tennis and I loved the Ferrari Simulator.

Ready to Rumble was superb as was Crazy Taxi.
