You get what you pay for is the main motto here. Coming out of the engine room, I slip on an oily step down a flight of stairs carrying my new ipad. Land on my hand at the bottom and the ipad goes skidding across the metal floor. Fuck my hand i thought, i picked up the ipad, and not a scratch on it - due to the otterbox case i JUST put on it :- D , not a mark on the otterbox either. Well and truly skipped a beat, hand is ok too so thats a bonus.

So you do get what you pay for in some cases.

Next time Ill not be a weapons grade cunt and watch where im stepping.

haha. i had this blame culture we live in, having to sue someone for not watching where you were going.

An iPad in the engineroom? Christ, My old C/E (I'm moving to a new ship on Friday) would shit a brick if he saw that, he used to go apeshit about me reading a book while we were at standby (alongside a drillship) and that's on the midnight to 4am watch!

yeah im on the 12-4 watch. my chief is pretty laid back, still a cunt though. as long as you do your work and maintain an eye on things he doesnt care what you do in the time inbetween.
