Samsung Galaxy S3 whos getting one?

Well i've been out of contract now for about 8 months and thinking of getting a new phone. The S3 is released today on some networks and I'm 99% sure that its the phone for me. I was tempted to wait for the next iphone but after spending 3 days with the mother in laws ipad I have reaffirmed my dislkie of the apple os.. its not for me.

Has anyone seen a good deal on the Galaxy.. ??

I'm more than happy with my Galaxy Note. My next phone will probably be the Note 2 whenever that is due out. I know it's not for everyone but I just love the screen size and the s-pen is great for games like Draw Something and Cut the Rope. Plus the battery life is very very good although I did purchase 2 extra batteries !

I've just sold my 4S and waiting for my S3 to turn up, although got the email yesterday to say the blue was delayed by a few weeks, I really didn't want white so I can hold out for the blue to get in stock. Despite having been happy with the iPhone for years, I fancied a change and a bigger screen, no doubt i'll get an iPhone 5 if they come out with a bigger screen, but for now it seems to me like the S3 is one heck of a phone that's worth jumping ship for.

Although it isn't the amazing phone the press have sold to us. I am quite disappointed with the specs, and they seem to have done a lot of selling of the bloatware software that no-one will really use. They seem to have done an Apple on us. But... I was due an upgrade, and I love my Original Galaxy S which I have had for over 2 years now. So picked it up despite my reservations.

It's definitley got an SD card slot fella so you can add up to 64GB, they've not gone the (crappy) way of HTC and made it fixed.

Its the One X that doesn't have a SD card slot. But comes with 25GB dropbox account. Not cuased me an issue yet, i've got 18GB free still.

I just realised the missus' contract with three was due an upgrade and she's still happy with her 3GS, so I've ordered one to have a play.

Maybe, but in all honesty its received enough publicity. A huge event in Earls Court, constant previews, reviews and the announcement that there were over 9 million pre-orders.

I just doubt that Samsung have the capability to go ahead with a smooth launch. For example with the Galaxy S2, I was one of the first people in the country to get the device since no retailers had received confirmation of the official release date until around 12-24 hours beforehand. Not only that but I ended up paying £100 over the price due to the charlatans at Phones 4 U.

Then with the Galaxy Nexus launch it was made only available at one retailer in the UK - Phones 4 U who once again tried charging over £100 on the retail price. Then they announced accessories that never fully materialised or were delayed by over 6 months. Then they promised the release of a 32GB GSM model, informed all their retail partners and then silently (without an announcement) cancelled the phone.

And now we have production problems with the Hyper Glaze on the Pebble Blue models which has led to a stock shortage and some of the Samsung stores are charging £100 over the RRP for SIM Free 16GB Marble White phones!

They say all publicity is good publicity, but in this instance it certainly isn't. History speaks for itself.

they'll still sell bajillions of them, negative publicity or not. Look at Apple and the iPhone 4. The absolutely enormous Antennagate issue and the production problems with the white model. They haven't struggled to sell them, let's be honest - and neither will Samsung with the SGS3.

The S3 reminds me of an iphone actually. Sold mainly on hype rather than actual cutting edge technology. And bundled with a load of software crap no-one will actually use. Can't wait until I get mine... lol
