AT&T iPhone unlock in uk

Ive had an at&t iPhone 4 since release and have been using gevey sim with it, just realised that at&t have started offering unlocks.

is there any way to get it unlocked through any providers in the uk?

I tried it with a Canadian iPhone, got a quote for £50 but with no guarantee it would work. No uk carrier could unlock it officially nor could the apple store.
This was about 18 months ago.

two options try fill in the at&t unlock form which you can do online its very hit and miss people are reporting mixed success depending on the original account holders status,

other option is 3rd party factory unlock but aint cheap im paying $125-$135 per unlock !!
both ways take approx 10-14 days at present, other issue on 3rd party is the source loads people claim to have "direct source" they process 100/1000s unlocks for people then low and behold at&t have been reversing these a month or so later as unauthorised for them to have dissapeared,
if you do go ahead pm me deets and can check the supplier out for you

No probs yes very expensive just had 8 done was crying after handing over money for those, loads of these are about as well, people updated the software to 5.1 which changed baseband to 4.12.01 then were stuck as gevey doesn't support

FYI prices on AT&T unlocks have dropped in last few days, anyone looking to get it done dont pay more than $60-70 for factory unlock

thats good to know, may get it done soon, tried at&t couldn't get very far, was told I need the previous at&t account holders details to access the account for an unlock

yeah they closed the loop hole end of May, must be valid account number and account must be in good standing for them to process unlock request

Just like to say thanks to beerman, My iphone recently got replaced by applestore and it was locked to at&t and I could not activate it - pm'ed beerman for the at&t sims and he dropped them round to my house the same day.
