Default Fault finding a 2010 MBP

It's charging up, the battery level indicates the batteries full, but pressing the power does sweet FA.

I'm usually a PC Techy and am not too up on Mac's, but I imagine the fundamentals are the same...?

I've been looking around Apple's site and tried the 'run of the mill' things to try, but nothing they suggest has an effect.

Is there anyway to force a MBP into a factory state that might help? I've tried resetting the 'SMC', but again, has no effect whatsoever.

Any ideas or other things I an try before attacking it with a screwdriver?

if its a new logic board, it'll probably be cheaper to buy a replacement. If you turn it off, take the battery out so its only running on the charger..how do u turn it on?

I've read up that you can short these 2 power pads on the logic board (page 27 of the following Service Manual), connected to the battery should turn on, no matter what. But I'm struggling to find a site or service manual with this particular logic board on it.

Even the official Service Manual for this model shows a different board than I have in this one.
It shows, on page 20, 2 large shapes cut out for fans I'm guessing. But this one only has 1 shape cut out. So finding a replacement might even be a PiTA!

Will Apple sell me a replacement Logic board for it, or will I have to book it in, pay for it to be replaced, be without it for weeks... etc.

It's for a loyal customers of mine who has always come to me before anyone else and always will - even Apple!

Apple won't sell you the part, you will need to have them fit it. Only costs £28 labour to do though and its a simple enough repair, I can do them in about 20 mins at my place. You should only be without your mac for 3-5 days, not weeks.
