Help! My ps3 has a black screen

My ps3 works fine on one of my TVs. On the other one it loads up a black screen. It was set to 720p, which my TV can do, then I did the display settings reset to put it down to 576 and it still didn't work. I've tried two hdmi cables on two ports on the TV. I don't get why it works with the same HDMI cable on another tv Help!

Like I said, I did the display settings reset. Unfortunately, that doesn't work. My tv shows the resolution that is connected (which it's capable of displaying) but just doesn't display anything.

So you get the screen come up that tells you that a hdmi lead is connected but after that nothing

Whats the make and model of the tv

The tv is a tevion LCD 4040. I've tried disconnecting it and the ps3 from the mains to no avail.

Have you tried connecting it via Composite and resetting the video settings?

I've bought a cable and will try that. It doesn't need a reset though. It's something to do with my TV. I've got two ps3s both set to 720p, which my tv is compatible with and they work on a mate's tv. They just don't work on mine

Ah so its the TV that is the problem?
Does this same PS3 work on your mates TV?

Have you tried the normal SD (red/white/yellow) cables and done a reset, or is that what you have ordered?
