Help dodgy box or dodgy cable?

I have had a sky HD box for around 7 months now, and for some reason every time i am watching anything pretty much every day or two the tv screen will just go blue and say 'no signal' then i have to turn the tv off and on and it all works as normal. not sure whether this is a box or cable issue, and today while i was watching something recorded and tried to go back ot normal tv all of a sudden the screen went to a sky screen with a message in the middle saying that 'this display does not support HDCP' so i powered down the box and checked the cables and ports which seem fine and when i started the box up again it all worked fine, just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem and if they were able to resolve it.

    Thanks

was it installed by sky as part of a contract?
if so - its under warranty,
get on to sky and kick up a polite fuss

the box is an amstrad r004.049.21.00p according to the system details. and the box was not installed by sky, it was a self install but i assume the box would still be under warranty for parts for 12 months.

The DHCP message is when the TV is not capable of converting the signal from the box and show it on the TV, as per the above.......

    How old is the TV?
    Whats the make?

I presume its connected via a HDMI cable?

    Let us know.

PS, that software version is for the Amstrad DRX 890 and there are a few TV's that produce this problem and the first port of call is to report it to Sky as we are investigating these issues.

    You have 3 options..

    1) Call Sky and book a service call and try another box but I would presume that would not resolve the problem.
    2) Call Hitachi and ask them if there is a software update available for your TV, this has resolved this problem quite a few times.
    3) Try another TV set.

    Regards
