Aston Villa
have agreed personal terms with Dutch defender Ron Vlaar, who is expected to
sign a three-year contract.

The 27-year-old Feyenoord centre-half will have a medical at Villa Park next
week before the move is finalised, the Premier League club have confirmed.

Vlaar first held talks at Villa Park on 15 July but then announced the deal
was off a week later.

"The chances I will now sign for Villa are almost zero,"
he said at the time. "I don't like to be messed about."

However Vlaar, who has nine caps for the Netherlands, has now performed a
U-turn.

Paul Lambert has already signed Matt Lowton and Karim
El Ahmadi
since his arrival as Villa boss in June.
