Bang and Olufsen tv security pin

I have acquired a very nice set 100% not nicked , it wants a pin code entered but can't ask original owner for code Is there any way to find or extract code without contacting B and O?

Or do I have a beautiful big paperweight lol?

I take it if I guess too many times it will freeze up?

The retailer who sold the set will have put in a pin number when it was installed. They're supposed to write it in the owners manual but quite often they "forget"! Meaning you have to go back to them for service...

You need the pin number once the set's been unplugged for an hour! Many will have been in standby all their lives, hence it never being required.

The retailer should have it on file.

Thanks guys, I have no idea where it was purchased and don't have manual etc. it is supposed to be scrapped but obviously it's not lol. I suppose I'm asking if the code can be read somehow from wherever it's stored electronically in the set or if there is any other workaround.

Nope not nicked b and o won't give me the code and previous owner can't be asked

Was hoping for a way to read the code from board but I now know that's not possible

If you're bored try entering birth dates from 0101 to 3112 worth a try there ain't that many.

Yes tried 0000 and 1234 I believe you get 3 attempts then it locks out for 3 hrs, Christ that could take up a whole load of your time lol

Out of interest, why can't the previous owner/user be asked?
In the age of texts, emails or even (god forbid) a phone call it should be easy enough, especially for a 12k telly!

It's an insurance write off mate supposed to be skipped

try and see if there is any firmware updates for the tv, sometimes they are done via usb, you never no there maybe and it may take the tv to stock

Have tried that mate they say the dealers don't know the numbers the nos are held at B and O hq and they will only ever disclose it to registered owner so that stuffs that line

Technicallly set belongs to insurers I may call them tell them it powers on but we need code to test further if they think they may get some salvage money for set they may ask the original owner, or I might just be digging myself a bigger hole lol

B&O don't put the pin number in, the dealer does.

The dealer is supposed to have it on file. But they're also supposed to tell the customer what it is too.
