An MK4, 2004 Golf R32....
Wanted one for years, and finally found a spec which is perfect.
Cost a bomb to run, but makes one hell of a weekend car!!!!

I want one of these.. but a mk5 ...
I've got a MK5 GTI at the moment, it's a lovely car, but just not fun enough. The MK5 GTI is a sweet looking motor, but the MK5 R32 just doesn't hit me the same as the MK4 shape for some reason.
Non Resonated Millitek, Stage 1 Remap, LUK Clutch, RNS510 OEM Sat nav sunroof plus half leather heated buckets.

Cracking car mate.
Join the R32OC if you haven't already, loads of great lads on there.
Nice one Big Brand. I'm always idly browsing Autotrader looking for a fun weekend car. I'm not in a position to buy one but looking never hurt anyone. Cars I lusted over as an 18 year old are all in my budget now but most of them are rusty heaps!
I would love a Mk1 Clio Williams 2 or Gti 16v Mk2.

Already on R32OC been on a while, before I did some research, there some nice cars go for sale on there, although grossly overpriced IMO.
Also on MK5GTI forum and UKMKIVS as well, really good knowledgeable forums.

Lovely motor, The R32 is a later boyhood dream car, and my original and always was a Ferrari Testarossa, and then a Nissan Skyline R32 then R34, and then the Golf GTI and then most recently Golf R32.
I've owned all but the Ferrari!

Lad mate of mine bought a Mazda Mx5 and stuck a turbo charger on it, for his RWD weekend car. it's insanely fast.

Nice car.
My 2.0i MX5 nearly killed me in the Snow a couple of winters ago... sudden layer just dropped from the sky on a dual carriage way at night. I instantly slowed down and was in the tyre tracks of a wagon in front (the only other car on the road). He moved into the next lane to let a car come on from a slip road so I moved also...
Fishtailed for about what felt like 100 meters!
Been a pro I managed to keep it straight but it was fecking scary! Managed to get to the wives folks house and parked it up until a few weeks later when the snow had gone.
Had to sell it last year to fund the wedding and went to a Fiat 500 Twin Air! Lots of fun but not MX5 fun...
I can see myself getting a silly car for the weekends again in the next couple of years
We all make mistakes sometimes

Had one of the last of the MK5 R32's (2009 58 plate) and quite sad to see it go a few months ago. Replaced it with an Audi S3 which is quicker and all that but but still prefer the V6 in a lot of ways
I have got a MK5 GTI and love it to bits but now so used to the power that i want something with a bit more oomph and really like the golf so I may look at getting a golf R in the next year or so
had to buy a new air compressor on mine last summer, thankfully i got it done for £500 but through VW they were lookin at 700+VAT for the part alone lol........absolute killer on maintenance, last service was £900, 4 discs, 4 sets of pads, front and rear bushes, near side CV gator plus the usual stuff on a service, just a joke how priced up parts are because only VW parts will be fitted. That is the only frustrating part about owning a VW that the cost of parts is ridiculous.
