Spider killer.....

Although I don't like animal cruelty, I detest these thing and hate their presence in my house. I think its the only creature I think we could all do without! I just found 2 massive fuckers , and their fangs were huge. What's the best way to kill these things dead in their tracks? I can't go near spiders as they just creep me out.

I have 2 cats. Any really effective sprays out there - which wouldn't effect the cats?

There's no point killing them because they'll keep coming back. Best thing to do is try to find all possible entry points and make sure they're sealed well. The bottoms of front doors, back doors. Your loft cover on?

I wouldn't look to introduce toxic sprays into your house to be honest. Perhaps if you really really want to stop them, leave some fly paper about. They may walk onto it but they're clever fuckers.

put conkers in each corner of each room where spiders seem to be coming in, supposedly that works, and i googled that shit and there are loads of sources to confirm that.

the 2 we found were so big they probably would have clogged up the hoover mate! lol. the missus was brave enough to get it in a container and put it outside, while im standing like a pussy in the corner! haha. I said to her that if i see another ill kill it outright, while she insists its "done nothing wrong and doesnt deserve to die". its a spider ffs!

anyway, its an old house so there will be gaps somewhere. the loft lid is on, and im going hunting today and see if i can see any other gaps around the house. To be honest i'd rather have a fly infested house than these massive spiders! Flys don't bother me at all!

Failing that ill just kick the cats outside for a bit, and spray the spider with bleach, that will no doubt kill the fucker.

Thats a load of old bunkum mate, my mate tried that and a huge spider crawled over the top of the conker! At which point he screamed like a girl ran out of the room rang me and got his missus to get rid a bit like Goose...LOL

We get them and have had a few that fought like fuck to avoid death by hoover... If they are small enough then a few sheets of bog paper does the trick nicely with a flush down the loo.
As for flies, we don't get too many and I would rather deal with them than spiders.

Could be worse, could be mice.. Mice that are in the cavity walls so you cannot even get to them! Or Slugs... My mam's house (old house) they used to come out of the skirting boards!

Spiders are scary but cleaning slug slime and mouse shite up is not nice.

might only be a spider to you mate, but some people are terrified of them. I wouldn't go as far to say I have arachnophobia but they certainly creep me out.

My missus's dad was bit while he was asleep by a large spider, and his face expanded like a fuckin balloon, still has the bite mark to this day, so when it gets to the stage where I have kids within the next year or so, I definitely don't want these massive fuckers we seem to be finding crawling around its cot.

the one we saw last night was a common house spider. although the one last week was more grey in colour and MUCH larger. when the missus went to trap it, it reared up at her and came towards her, very aggressive. not sure what it could have been?

I don't mind spiders, rather them than flies but then my cat slaughters any insect (or arachnid) daft enough to come near!!

I never kill a spider. If i'm in someone else's house and they ask me to get rid of it I always persuade it onto my hand and then take it outside. My mother got bitten by a big spider once, when I was a kid, but only because she grabbed it with her fingers. It bit her in self defense. If you sort of guide it onto your open hand and let it crawl about on your still open hand it wont feel so threatened and will not bite. I have picked up some really huge spiders this way.

I also do the same with wasps and bees. Again they will only sting you if they feel their life is in danger. Don't like bees in the workshop, but only because it could be on a cupboard handle or on one of my tools and I pick it up without noticing and then get stung.

I taught my girlfriend not to be afraid of spiders. She used to vac them up but now she picks them up and puts them outside, or most of the time just ignores them.

I believe in living with and embracing nature. I do understand that some people are afraid of spiders. Just don't understand why they are afraid of something that cant really hurt you. They are not afraid of getting into a car, motorbike, plane, crossing a busy street. Going to the pub, being in a public place, eating out at a restaurant, eating a Big Mac meal. All of which are more risky than being in the same room as a spider. You could be involved in a fatal crash, get run over, get into a fight, get stabbed, get poisoned, be still hungry, and closer to a heart attack, after paying £4.99 for a Big Mac meal. (">

Throw your cats at um ( in a nice way) if they don't eat um they shud at least. Bat them around enough to kill um then just sweep um up, if that don't work an can of lynx an a lighter will do the job
