My android tablet has 16 hours. How long is the ipad?

To give the ipad it's dues. The educational apps on the ipad are far superior to any other OS. I am considering an ipad for this reason alone. I still fucking hate itunes, so so much. But I have 3 Android tablets already, so need to get rid of one before I get an ipad. I think it will probably be the Advent Vega, which ironically cost me the same as an ipad does these days.

Seriously, you're not going to beat iPad battery life mate. I've had them all. Transformer, play book, vega etc. iPad seems to last weeks in comparison to a day or so for the others.

Transormer Prime is superior if you add the dock. I left it in standby for a couple of months without touching it. I picked it up and it still had battery. And it does 16-18 hours non-stop. Some might say the dock is cheating, but in this case, I say it's fine....

    But....

I agree... The ipad is the superior tablet to all others. And I am looking to get one at some point, probably Christmas, and I am a massive Android fanboy. Might get a Nexus 7 too, though. But only because it is such good value. And I want to try a 7 inch tablet.

You can get keyboard battery docks for many tablets so that doesn't really count. My iPad (3) would beat 16 hours hands down on its internal battery no problem. I charged it at the start of last week, I used it for a few hours every evening as was on holiday and didn't have laptop with me, I'm typing this on it now and it's showing 55% remaining.

I'm definately getting 10 hours plus on wifi from my iPad. Every tech review I've read puts the iPad ahead as the tablet of choice.

But.... I would never swap my phone for an iphone. Too many things you can't do on iOS. I don't really need that every day, and I wouldn't use a tablet every day.

I have to add my 2p I charge my iPad roughly once a week and it gets used everyday both on wifi at home and tethered to my iPhone while im out, usually at home its general web browsing, news, f1, IMDB etc but while i'm out its either iPlayer, tvcatchup or skygo and it seems to manage its battery brilliantly, I dont play many games only words with friends, scramble with friends and Matching with friends which aren't really heavy on the cpu nor do they drive the screen too hard.

I only turned off the gps because i dont use it and it was eating in to the battery for nothing

I've not had much experience with android tablets but a lad at work who's got the 10.1 galaxy tab says he got about 7-8 hours out of a full charge but since the change to ICS its gone more to 8-9, he's planning on using Jellybean but not being a full blown geek he's a bit apprehensive lol
