The raspberrypi team have now made available a licence to buy to enable hardware MPEG-2 & VC-1 decode and H.264 encode.

All this for a bargain price of £2.40 for MPEG-2 and £1.20 for VC-1

ordered the mpeg2 licence yesterday with my raspberry pi serial number, my mpeg2 code arrived this morning, popped my sd card into my adapter (it wont read in my laptops sd card reader for some reason?) and edited the config.txt file (just add the single line they email you) and then tried some mpg files, played perfectly, could not get it to load a DVD iso but hopefully that will be able to be added in the future, for £2.40 i think its a good deal

I've read about people playing iso's so it may be a case of you missing a library file... Something along the lines of libdvdcss..
