Most tech news sites are reporting that the prices for the 32GB and 64GB have been confirmed to them by Apple:

    iPhone 5 32GB - £599 (Black & Slate/White & Silver)
    iPhone 5 64GB - £699 (Black & Slate/White & Silver)

*Note these are the prices for a SIM Free unit from Apple Retail (in-store and online).

TBH I assumed the pricing structure would remain the same but glad to hear other places back my thoughts up.

I was a bit worried by the increase of £30 on the 16GB model, especially since im planning to get the 64GB model. I thought they might make it £750!

£700 for the 64GB, you can get the 16GB for £530. All depends on how much stuff you want to carry with you or you could get it on contract to spread the cost. I was lucky with my iPhone 4, bought one for £600 with the intention of keeping it, saw how much it was worth so sold it for £1000 to a bloke in Iraq then bought another for £600 Can't see demand being that high this time around though...

16GB enough for me. I have fast and properly unlimited mobile internet, a big dropbox and iCloud

I won't be preordering as funds won't allow but i'll probably get one in the second or third wave (if there's a shortage)

WOW £170 for an extra 48 gig of memory onboard. Does anyone else here think this is not a slight piss take ? Does Apple know what year it is ?

    Thanks to flik

I think they just know how to run a business well mate, just look at their value and what that equates to!! If you can get away with it then why not, just wish I had shares

That's a rip off but no doubt third parties will release alternatives shortly. I'm actually quite shocked they thought it was acceptable to price it so high, I expected £10-15 as a worst case scenario... I think it would be fair to ship one out in the box but they would argue new iPhone users don't need one.

The annoying thing is they are so cheap in comparison in the USA. 16GB $199, 32GB $299 64GB $399. That's around 125 / 185 / 247 pounds. Am I missing something here or is the US price just massively less????

If you think this is bad I play a Yamaha Tyros keyboard. If you want to upgrade the memory Yamaha have made their own connector and a 1Gb upgrade is £279 !!! Now that takes extortionate to a whole new level .... GedR

Local sales tax needs adding on and I believe mobile contracts are not that competitive compared to the uk

As said that is price with a 2-year contract, and US contracts are rubbish, you can get a better deal here.

    Edit: too slow.

For those who might have a new phone on contract in the next few months and don't want the iPhone 5, please keep me in mind. I have had a 3GS for the past 3 years for £300 new and it has been the best thing I've ever owned, a total revelation when I first had it. Never felt the need to upgrade but finding it a little slow now with newer iOS and 16gb not enough. But can agree that nothing revolutionary has happened with the iPhone for a while. Maybe it's the iOS that keeps improving these phones gradually that people take for granted. If apple kept some of these as part of a launch, the phone may seem better!
