Borderlands 2 'Golden Key' unlocks this chest in Sanctuary

Whether you're a vault hunter who picked up the loot chest edition of Borderlands 2 or pre-ordered it through a select retailer, you'll find yourself burdened by one golden key come launch day.

This golden key unlocks a special treasure chest in the city of Sanctuary.
The chest (pictured below) will drop some very rare (see: purple) loot once open – loot that is scaled to your character, Gearbox says.

So the potency of the loot within is dependent on the level of your character when you open it – and while we know how hard it is to not open a chest full of loot in a game where that is one of the primary goals, you may want to hold off as long as you can on this golden chest.

Man, having the key to a golden chest and having to hold off opening it till you level up, I don't think I could do that lol!

Well if it works like the original borderlands it's bollocks anyway.
in borderlands there was an exploit/glitch where you could drop your weapons, have your team mate (the host) pick them (if he was a sufficient rank) up then quit to dash. When you rejoined your original weapons were back. This was used widely for farming as you can imagine, especially for the rare weapons.

So the first player savvy enough to wait till say level 50 before opening it could pas it on to another level 50 and in essence it becomes viral.
