Hi guys been looking at the skybox f3 boxes as a cheap way of getting into the digi satellite game, what I wanted to know was will I need a motorised dish to get the "extras" i require eg football, movies etc or will my sky digi dish do the job?

On a tight budget as I have lots of other projects on the go round the house, which box do you recommend?
are the vu clones stable and okay? which image would be best for these and how easy can *everything* be added?

seems like a good price to me?
Would you get the saturday footy on this then without a motorised dish?
No you will needs setanta Ireland to watch 3 pm kick of mate.
The clones are spot on mc Dodd no difference from real one well mines was anyway
cheers, are maxsat reliable? I'm assuming images are easy to come by and apply..The clones are spot on mc Dodd no difference from real one well mines was anyway
the skybox M3 looks okay but i suppose you're better off buying a better quality box, I'm in the same position lloydi, want to get started but without spending too much initially..
I've heard of them but I've never used them. If you where to buy the f3 you will have it a month before you sell it on and replace t with a better box . There is hundreds of images for Vu
mc.dodd (14th September 2012)
Ok great will check the vu boxes then, do they have an epg? I heard the f3 don't
Have you seen the tiny writing
VU+SOLO
chinese version
I'm not racist i hate everybody
I got clone VU solo's for my dad and brother to replace ones open box and the others DM500hd and they love the simplicity of them. After the initial set up neither has pestered me with questions like they did with other boxes.
Setanta Ireland works fine on a normal mini dish on 28.2 (well does for lots of people I know anyway )
I am reliably informed that the Satanta subscription is prohibitively expensive for the Saturday 3pm games.... wouldn't have minded it myself.
You need to provide your Sky card number and live in NI or Eire to offically receive Setanta Sports.
£125 for the year or £6 pm for 6 months then £10 pm =£96 for the first year.

Try to sign up with a mainland UK address/sky card and I asssume you'll be refused point blank.
/edit/
Like the idea of the Vu+. Sent maxsat a quick email and got a very vague response.

> Hi, Looking at replacing my S9 with the Vu+ Solo clone. Can you confirm
> yours are v2 and can accept current images.
> TIA.
That would be 180 Euro then for the Eire sub but you'll stil be refused without valid Irish credentials won't you?
Doesn't matter to me personnally as I've had the S9 for over a year now without much issue. Just see the opportunity to upgrade for a fairly low outlay. Other suppliers I've seen the last couple of days do claim compatibility with the lastest Vu images but they do cost a few quid more.
